I joined this site on 9th November and usually use th 'Head Spinning’thread but I would love to talk to anyone who is local to me to share local experiences. Had WLE and SNB on 1st December at LGI and awaiting results. Would love to visit the Haven in Leeds, anybody been there?

I’m from Leeds, Iam 47 years old and had a WLE, SNB & Full node clearance this year at the LGI, I have finished chemo 3 weeks ago at Jimmys.
The Breast Cancer Haven is a wonderful place, everyone is so friendly there, I can feel myself going “ahhhh” when I walk in, although I haven’t been since I started chemo in July, at the moment I’m not up to going but hopefuly after christmas I will have the energy to go again - the aromatherapy with alison is fantastic!!!
How much longer do you have to wait for your results?, I remember the waiting was awful, think its the not knowing. Good luck, I really hope you get the results you are hoping for

I’m also from Leeds, had MX in February this year, followed by chemo and rads.
The Haven is a lovely place to visit. I went there quite a lot in the first few months but, a bit like Tracey, didn’t go so much when I was going through chemo etc. I went to their Advent Thanksgiving service at Leeds Parish Church last week which was lovely and very inspiring.
I have also visited the Robert Ogden centre at St James’. This centre is brilliant, the staff are lovely and there are many complementary therapies you can try. It’s also not just for you but for your family too.
I do hope you don’t have too long to wait for your results and also hope that the results are good.

Not from Leeds but from Huddersfield.Im a four year and nine month survivor and crippled at the moment with depression.I should feel great afterall just 3 months and I’m clear. I have lymphodema in arm but it’s managable. I’m taking tamoxifen. Had issues with very heavy periods but got fitted with marina coil after checks that there was nothing sinister going on. last period lasted 42days!!! I’m 53. This is first posting and nothing ?on the left seemed to fit!! Anyone else in same or similar boat

Well got results…grade 2 breast now clear but cancer cells in lymph node they removed…cant have more surgery due to sleep apnia…seeing onc tomorrow for treatment plan…rads andmaybe chemo…def tamoxifen…happy days…must get to haven for some relaxation!!

Hi,I’m Wynn,aged 50 diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb.this year,I have had a partial mastectomy but am node positive and have just had my first chemo session on Monday this week.Scary,but I feel fine,no nausea,eating well etc.I am however waiting for the “wheels to come off”,will I remain well throughout?Waiting for the inevitable hair loss etc.
I would appreciate any comments.Many thanks.
Hi Wynn So sorry but only just seen your message on the thread. I am over chemo and rads and now on tablets for ever!!! Had bone scan Friday and getting results Thursday as having bad pains in neck and shoulders. How are you?

I’m from Leeds, had mastectomy in April and full node clearance. Done 4 EC chemo, 2 more to do and no rads, then tamoxifen for five years and reconstruction next year. The Haven is a wonderful place, can’t recommend it enough. Having a lovely course of massages with Jean. Thinking I will do the Hi-Heel-a-thon in September, charity walk in Leeds centre (1 mile) for Haven in stilletos … should be fun.
