Are there any ladies who live in Lincolnshire who would fancy meeting up at some point, maybe regularly? I have attended my local BC support group in the past and while they are very nice supportive ladies they are a) all much much older than me (I am 41) and b) mostly a long way out from diagnosis - average 10 - 15 years so all that is going on for me and others in a current situation is a distant memory for them, so they have a very nice coffee morning once a week and swap patterns and puzzle books - not knocking it btw just not for me!
Reply to this thread or PM me if you live anywhere in Lincolnshire and might be interested!

Hi, I am new to this today. I am 42 & was diagnosed in November with breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy & lymph node removal last Tuesday. Awaiting my results & to find out what treatment comes next. Feel very lonely at the moment & scared. I live in Lincoln any chance of being able to talk to someone nearby and meet up in the future.
Good God - we are all so blooming young! (although dont feel very young at the moment!)
Looks like there a few of us who would be up for a meet up - I have just finished chemo 12 days ago so am still a bit knackered, and we all have the normal Christmas chaos to deal with so shall we plan something for maybe 3rd or 4th week in january 2012? How about meeting somewhere fairly central? Lincoln maybe? (my map skills are rubbish so feel free to suggest somewhere else!) we could maybe meet up on a Saturday for lunch? What do you ladies think? Lisa has already been in touch via pm If everyone wants to PM me their email addresses I will co-ordinate if you like?
Hi, ive not been on here for a long time. don’t really know why i looked tonight? well i do really, it a year tomorrow since my op. but to see the linc’s thread was good to see. Im ‘young’ too. and didnt find much comfort in my local ‘group’ through the age thing again, so would be good to meet some ladies with similarities, kids, work, etc.
take care
Jo
p.s Hi lincs lady hope u ok.
I’m fine thank you. The first few days after the chemo were pretty rough but I feel much better now. Next one is on the 13th. Can’t say I’m looking forward to it but at least I know what to expect now.
Yes, I’m trying to have that attitude! It’s not a pleasant thing to have to go through but in the grand scheme of things it’s only for a short time.
xx
Do you lincs ladies still meet? If so I wanna join your gang!! I live in Lincoln currently having treatment would be good to hear your take on things x
