any one had the same experience??

dear all,
I have bone mets but have just been to onc yesterday . They told me that when i had my ovaries out in september they found cancer cells in them.
Feeling pretty down as having mamo, ultra sound , blood tests and another bone density.
Having to wait 2 weeks to see them again.
Would love to hear from anyone who has had the same.

Hi Liz,

Sorry to hear about your latest diagnosis. I don’t know if you’re aware or not but tonight, Thursday, our general live chat session is running between 9pm and 10pm. The session is for those with a primary diagnosis, but if you really need some support tonight, you can go along for a quick chat.

We do have a dedicated secondaries live chat session on Tuesday evenings between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Both these sessions are run by a trained facilitator and nurse. To access the live chat just follow the links below.

I hope this helps. Take care,
Jo, Facilitator

Hi Jo,

Could you clarify something for me. A couple of years ago it was made very clear that 2ndaries should not gatecrash on Thursday General Chat session, just as those who did not have 2ndaries should not attend the Tuesday 2ndary chat session.

I have just taken a look at the wording and notice it now says:

“This session is for anyone with a diagnosis of breast cancer but it is mostly used by people with a diagnosis of primary breast cancer”

do we take it that those with 2ndaries can now attend the Thursday General chat sessions?

Hi Dawn,

I will double check on this, but I felt that this user needed some support tonight and knew that there was a live chat session running which may help her.

Kind regards,
Jo, Facilitator

Hi again Dawn,

I have checked with our Live Chat Facilitator and you are correct in what you say, we do try to keep people with a secondary diagnosis separate from those with a primary diagnosis in order to try to provide the best possible service. Sorry for the confusion.

Kind regards,
Jo, Facilitator

Jo thank you for checking this out and getting back to us. May I suggest that the wording in the link you put above is changed. It does give the impression that anyone can pop into the general chat session.

Liz I am sorry to have hijacked your thread but I really was concerned that you would not have found any secondary ladies in tonights chat, and might possibly have been told (very politely) that you were in the wrong chat session! I hope you have found it has helped to chat to us in the Bone mets thread today

Hi Dawn

The link above has been changed slightly to advise users that Thursday chat is aimed at those with a primary diagnosis as requested.

Kind regards
