Hi I’m on carboplatin /taxol I’m having bowel probs either one way or other they wanted to take me in put me on drip to settle bowel I can’t seem to win movicol works in the end if I have loads packs but the goes other way not sure best plan of action they might change it as saying not gd to bowel any ideas be great Laura
I can sympathise Laura, but my issues have been related to post-op and FEC.
I used movicol initially and it didn’t work at all, totally rubbish for me, ended up getting suppositories and lactulose from GP. I take lactulose Ilike syrup) twice daily regardless now and only use suppositories when necessary, usually 5 days after FEC if lactolose isn’t doing the job properly.
Drinking plenty of warm fluids (glass of hot lemon water in morning)through the day and eating plenty of fruit to get things going. Not really had a problem other way yet, so sorry I can’t really help on that one
