Omg what a shock to have a car parked in your house lol I will try and look for the photo x
Morning everyone
How are you all doing ? Iām back at work after my bug and feeling a bit better now. Was sent for a few tests by doc got a bit of damage / change to liver and lung but nothing sinister I put it down to damage from chemo but heyho I can put up with that, on my exercise bike at the mo trying to build my fitness up.
Suzanne/Anne l was the same with my wig . Iāve got a v small head like pea size lol. What I did was get a little head band not a fancy one just thin and plastic and it was great. Held it in place and also made it look even more like real hair.
Wishing you all a great weekend xxx
Hello everyone,
Ā
I hope I have chosen the right thread to ask this question on - hopefully not intruppting the flow!
Ā
My mother has been diagnosed with Triple negative BC stage 3, and has been undergoing chemo. She is about to do her fourth session soon and is now feeling a hardned area in her healthy breast (the left), she says it is exactly in the same location as where her cancerous tumor was in the right breast - right under the armpit.
Ā
However, this was not there a few weeks ago - she is worrying about it and I would like to let her know that it is actually a somewhat common consequence of chemo in itās causing of the calcification of cysts in healthy breasts. However, I not being a doctor and not having had breast cancer -can only say so much.Ā
Ā
Have any of you ladies experienced this before? And can any of you say based of your experience whether a tumor could possibly grow in another breast whilst undergoing chemo?
Thanks a bunch everyone, you are all inspiring and amazing.
Ā
Yas xx
Hi all Iām not sure if a tumour can grow when having chemo I know breast is slightly swollen therefore harder but thatās since radiotherapy, best to get it checked tho especially if it feels the same as the other breast did. Amanda so so glad your feeling better and back in work, inverting ready to go in at 12 for my first shift back, so nervous hope they r gentle with me lol xxxx

I should be glad to put this year behind me so why am I feeling like this, is anyone else feeling like this or is it just me. Xx
Thank u so much pam, wishing u all good health in 2016 xxxx
You have made my day with your story. Thank you. May you have just as many more wonderful years ahead. Tiffany xxx
Bernadetteh my previous message was for you. But I would like to wish all you brave ladies a safe and ābetterā 2016.
I was diagnosed Stage 4 TN in October 2014 - 3 months after my baby boy was born. I was told the average for me was 1-2 years survival. My tumour was 3.4cm but during my subsequent lumpectomy they found it had grown to 8cm! It had also spread to nearly all of my lymph nodes. With bad margins I had a full mastectomy one week later where they also removed all lymph nodes from that side. My surgeon told me my entire breast was riddled with cancer. Scans had also shown small lesions on my lung and liver hence the stage 4.
I underwent 6 cycles of very aggressive chemo - FEC-D which knocked me around no end and completed the treatment last April (2015). My follow up scan showed no evidence of disease as have all my 3 monthly scans since. All clear. Three oncologists have told me I should not be in remission and that they have not seen this before.
I have cut out dairy, sugar, meat and keep my carbs to 50g or under each day. I eat vegan, take loads of vitamins and am heavily into juicing (cold press Champion juicer ). High dose Curcumin, vitamin C and fish oil are my new best friends - I swear I rattle. But I feel amazing. I lost 30kg and never feel hungry. I eat only organic where possible.
I recommend reading up on The Gerson Therapy (youtube has good docos by Charlotte Gerson) I found it helped me in many ways.
I 'm sending huge hugs to everyone. Much love and best wishes for a happier new year

Bernadetteh thank you for sharing. Your story is inspiring to those who believe a TN advanced diagnosis is the end and you are so right - the medical professionals are not always correct. Iāve found in my own experience with different oncologists that they really do not know much about cancer.
Marina, masticating cold press juicers are best. Nutribullets (I have one of those also) wizz all the nutrients from the juice. Masticating juicers press the produce and the cold press is important to keep the temps down thus not killing off the goodness. These juicers are expensive but I view it as a good investment.
I started my ālifestyle changeā immediately after finishing my chemo. My first check scan was 3 months later. I would have started earlier had I read all the information I had earlier. Thereās no proof it works but there are many thousands of people with the very worst inoperable terminal cancers who were told they had days or weeks whose cancers miraculously disappeared and never returned with diet changes. So I figured it is certainly worth a try - nothing to lose! I have now a 19 month old baby boy and little girl whose just turned 6 at Christmas. Iām only 44. Giving up those things was never hard for me.
All I can say is research, research, research. Know all you can about everything and then take away from it the parts that are useful or feel right. I believe strongly in the power of the mind. In intuition and in the bodyās ability to self heal when given the opportunity. My first oncologist persisted in telling me I was basically going to die. I never felt this was the case and quite honestly felt and still do that it wasnāt as big a problem as she was telling me. She was one of those that told me sheād ānot seen this before and didnāt really know what to do with me but watch with interestā. Never be afraid to ask questions and to question your teamās decisions or information. They see thousands of people and we are all numbers. To us this is our life.
Read about āRadical Remissionā thereās a great book by a lady author all about it. Research vitamins and cancer fighting foods (broccoli, red cabage etc), exercise and take up some form of meditation.
I donāt intend to die from my diagnosis of terminal cancer. But I realise I have to be proactive in this. Fingers crossed lol.
I wish you all the very best xxx
Tiffany.
Amazingly inspirational story, Tiffany! I agree that the doctors, good as they are, have limits to their knowledge and often refuse to look beyond the limits of what their treatments can offer (thank goodness we have chemo and radio to help up, but thereās so much more we can do in addition) and therefore miss out on the healing powers of food, the mind etc. Iām an almost 14 year survivor of triple neg (with no recurrences to date - and long may this lastā¦). I did all the chemo etc. plus diet, supps & other stuff like yoga/meditation. I was stage 1 (aggressive grade 3 tumour though), but some years later I also found out I was also braca1 positive so my risk of a new cancer is higher than someone whoās not. Iāll never know whether the stuff Iāve done has kept me cancer free, but I donāt mind any of it and figure that taking good care of oneās self has so many positive repercussions in mind and body beyond just staying cancer free that itās worth it!
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and peaceful 2016.
Bel X
Bel that is wonderful. This is true that we donāt know if itās the diet and lifestyle changes that are doing it but what if it is? There seem too many ācoincidencesā. I am on the list to have the test early this year so weāll see.
Whitfield, the whole organic thing does cost. Some foods are more important to buy organic than others - i.e. leafy produce yes, bananas no. I do not eat meat now but if you do this is a must. If you cannot purchase organic soak all leafy produce in water with a splash of vinegar to remove residual chemicals. In fact we wash all our produce this way.
All the best xxx

Hi Pam,
From my knowledge eggs are fine (and full of nutrients/goodness) but the thoughts on dairy are very mixed. Iāve read a lot on how you should avoid dairy big time and then other stuff that seems to say itās ok in moderation. But if you are going to have it (and same goes for eggs & meat) do use organic. There are also lists online of the fruit & veg that are highest in pesticides & important to try & get organic and of the ones that are lower where it doesnāt matter so much. Re fish, some fish isnāt farmed (as far as Iām aware) - like mackerel (which is a very healthy & quite cheap). Tuna and swordfish are high in Mercury so best avoided/eaten rarely. Bel X
Hi Pam,
I agree with what Bel has said. From my research Iāve read there are links between dairy, red meat, alcohol and cancer. My medical team concur though there are indeed mixed views on this. From my perspective, having been staged as terminal, I have elected to cut out all dairy, meat and sugar. I never drank anyway. Iām not leaving anything to chance. Use your gut feeling here. Itās all a personal choice and youāll know what feels right for you. The occasional eggs, organic chicken or fish (fresh salmon etc) should be fine. I believe it is though important to get yourself sugar free. Try green tea with a slice of lemon.

PS an easy Cancer fighting juice (as per the Gerson Therapy ) is one apple per 3 large carrots. Core the apple but do not peel. Nutrients in the apple work to release certain nutrients in the carrots. Easy, quick and tasty
