So 11 am Tusday but Oloroso or Costa
Hi Ladies
11am at Oloroso sounds good !! Never been there but if it has nice views it has to be done !!
See you there !!
Ailsxx
Okay, Louise and Ails - it’s just the three of us on Tuesday 11am at Oloroso. I’ll try to get there a little early and will have a bright blue handbag on the table so you recognise me!!
Looking forward to it!

ok I will see you both there. Looking forward to it.
Hi All,
Would’ve loved to have joined you as I work in Edinburgh, but caught this thread too late. I would like to meet with some younger women but not sure if I’d could make daytime meets. If you have evenings planned, can you let me know. Quick potted history: dx last year with secondary bc, so no mastectomy, finished chemotherapy in Nove last year and no on herceptin and biphosphates for my bones, no kids but lots of adopted nieces and nephews.
Hope you a have a great time tomorrow,
Love Kate xx
Hi Kate,
So sorry to hear your dx. What a nightmare. I think the other ladies may be organising evening meetings if you live outside Edinburgh - see earlier messages on this thread. I just can’t do evenings at present due to (different) health problems.
Sending lots of love to you and healing vibes,
Linda xx
Hi Kate

Im up for meeting anywhere anytime lol a bit like martini !!!
sending you alll love

I’m free most evenings except Wednesdays.
If we can find out where everyone is and where they can easily get to then we could maybe get an idea of a suitable meeting place.
Hi Ladies
It was great meeting you Louise and Linda !! Hope we can do it again sometime !!
Im from Falkirk and have own transort so I can travel and Im willing to pick up others aswell. I think Edinburgh is prob the area easiest for people!!

Hi there,
Great to meet you both today - let’s do it again next month, shall we? I shall post another thread or renew this one from time to time to see if there are any other women in Edinburgh out there…

Ailene,
I was just wondering about the diagnosis you were given in relation to mine as you mentioned that your tumour had not spread outside the duct. That was the same as mine but mine was diagnosed as DCIS and of course I luckily did not have to have chemo. I don’t understand why you had to have chemo etc. Did you have micro-invasions or had it invaded outside the duct as I thought that was the only reason one had to have chemo. I hope you don’t mind me asking - but my mind if working overtime wondering about all sorts of things… (that anxiety again…)
By the way you and Louise have my utmost admiration - whether or not you break down crying at certain points in the day (which is TOTALLY NORMAL) - you both are incredibly strong women.
Sending lots of love
Linda
Thanks Ailene, I don’t know why I’m obsessing about it all - you’d think I’d have accepted my diagnosis by now but as you say, it is all rather confusing and I’m not sure googling helps either! I might have to get it explained to me more clearly by my consultant. I’m afraid since they made a hash of the diagnosis in the first place I have rather lost trust in them…
Sending lots of healing vibes and really hope you are feeling emotionally stronger soon.

LOvely meeting Ailene and Linda yesterday, we must do it again. It must be confusing to understand why we all get such varying treatments. I suppose I just accepted my diagnosis without question. ( I think I had got to the worse possible stage before I was diagnosed so mis diagnosis would have been impossible) Some times I think the more you read on the internet the more you question things which can be a good, bad or scary thing. I do obsess a bit about my long term prognosis.
Lovely to meet you Louise yesterday. You’re doing incredibly well in light of the hell you’ve been though these last 2 years. I am going to advertise our little group on other threads and maybe even put a notice up in Maggie’s - if they have a noticeboard there or maybe even drop a leaflet in to the waiting room at the Western next time I’m up there.
In the meantime, sending lots of healing vibes…

Hi, I’m live near Edinburgh and would love to join you all for a coffee sometime. However, I’ve only had a lumpectomy (coz I’m a “big girl” I avoided the mastectomy) and I’m 41 with two children age 16 & 15. So I’m probably too old, and the kids certainly are. However, if I am welcome please let me know where and when!
Sue xx
Hi Sue
Of courseyou are welcome!! Age is not an issue and anyone affected by this awful disease can join the club !! I think Linda is organising a coffee get together during the day next month, however some people cant make during the day, I was trying to organise something for one evening if you have any ideas!! I was thinking maybe next thursday evening about 7pm if any one is interested!! and any ideas of where to meet ??
Ails xx
can’t do next thursday (26th) - that’s the day of my first Tax - sorry. However, nice places to meet include Montpeliers in Bruntsfield (and its possible to park), Tiger Lily, All Bar One (both on George St - convenient for buses & trains). I’m sure you have plenty ideas yourself though! Do keep me informed though, if you wouldn’t mind!
Sue xx
Hi girls,
I might be able to get out on an evening last minute (depends what day I’ve had) but I can’t get out till after 8pm as I need to put the kids to bed. Tiger Lily looks nice on George St - though if we want to chat, I don’t know if it has loud music or not. I realise I am going to be away in a month’s time so let’s get together anyway before that - day or evening. If anyone wants to do another day time next week or the week after just say. Otherwise, do the evening and I shall try to get along if I can!
And yes, Sue, of course you’re very welcome!! Look forward to meeting you soon!

I’ll be free next Thursday evening or I’m off work first week in July so could meet up any day - would need to lunchtime on Thurs 3rd as I have Herceptin in the afternoon.
Be good to meet you all.
Kate xx
Hi all
So is anyone else interested in meeting on Thursday next week in the evening? Or would you prefer to leave it to day times?
