Any younger women who would like to meet up in Surrey

Hi I was wondering if any younger women with secondaries would like to meet up. I live in Carshalton 5 mins set from the royal marsden in Surrey and would love to meet up with some younger women as I feel very isolated. I was diagnosed with bc when I was 24 back in 2005 and then in January 2009 I was diagnosed with secondaries to the bones and bone marrow. I am now going through chemotherapy for the 3rd time.
Would love to meet with some younger women or men who either have breast cancer or secondaries as I feel very isolated, I thought when I moved to the royal marsden from st georges there would be alot of younger women there but I never see any. I am now 30. So if u would like to meet up for a coffee and chat in Sutton let me know.
Love clairemm xx

Hi Clairemm

I dont know if you’d consider me young (43) but I live in Wallington. I dont have secondaries but have just finished treatment for grade 3 stage 2. I’m more than happy to meet up with you - its awful feeling isolated. A group of us Marsden girls have started meeting up every month or 2 and maybe you’d like to join us for that as well. Let me know your thoughts.

Hiya

If I was in your area I’d love to meet up, I’m 31 now, diagnosed with secondaries at 27 but I live in the Midlands so it’s a bit of a treck! If you fancy a chat any time, feel free to PM me, it’s hard to find younger people in the same boat!

Take care

Dear Claire

I am not sure if you are still looking to meet someone in the local area but I have just registered and I would love to meet up with you. I am 34 years old and was diagnosed last November 2010 with breast cancer and secondary cancer to the bones.

I was 24 weeks pregnant at the time, now 36 weeks and they are looking to deliver my baby in a week or so.

I live in Croydon so very near you and like you feel very isolated.

Please let me know if you would like to meet up.

Charlotte

Hi Surrey gals,
Did you ever get a meet up going? If so I’d be keen to come along & if not can we get one started? I’m Epsom based & should have been celebrating my 5yr all clear about now only to find myself back at the start with Mets in bone & a hip & pelvis recons in Oct last year (+ lots more rubbish stuff)
Was hoping to find some like minded locals…

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you but I have just given birth to a baby girl all been a bit hectic and very emotional!

Would love to meet up not sure on the best way of getting a meet up started as new to all this any ideas?

Charlotte

Not sure if I qualify as young - 40. I live in surrey and really would love to meet up. I have finished my treatment, but am finding it hard to move on. I am happy to organise something if there is enough interest!

Im in epsom and would love to meet up also.

Mine is primary - at the moment and have just finished treatment

Congratulations Charlotte on the birth of your baby daughter!

I’m 39 and also in Surrey- Sutton. Would like to meet up with others in the area.

This thread is in the secondaries bit. Claire, are we primary ladies treading on your toes in responding?

I’m in Surrey but older than you and with primaries not secondaries.

A suggestion is that a new thread could be started in the “In your area” section for the primary ladies so we don’t tread on any toes.

I have never posted a message on a forum before but have been prompted by the idea of meeting others in a similar situation. I am in Beckenham but drive anywhere for cake! I am only 44 but with a recent diagnosis of secondary breast cancer it would be nice to meet up with others in a similar situation.

Hi, I live in Twickenham and would also love to meet up with anyone in the area.

I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with bone mets and going through radiotherapy at the moment but would love to meet some people in the same boat.

I am not that young at 54 but just diagnosed secondary’s in my lung so doing the whole chemo again, live in ham ton court but not very mobile.

Hiya,
Havent been on here for ages and ended up here as was looking for some specific info - did you ever organise a meet up? I am 46 but young otherwise! Espec as I have twin boys of only 13. Couldn’t believe when I was first diagnosed with secondary that there no local support groups - even tried to org one myself thru this forum but no joy!

Please let me know if you are all still interested. I live in bookham and am under the marsden. Secondaries in the lungs!

I’m in Wimbledon and would love to meet up with people. Recovering from surgery at the moment so a bit housebound but willing to travel for support and inspiration!

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has met up at all? Im being treated at the mo for bone mets, with initial dx a year ago with no node involvement so it’s all been a bit of a shock. I’m 33 with a 6 month old so wanted to meet others in similar situations as it can feel quite lonely like some people say. I’m being treated in Guildford but should find it easy to travel and meet others.

Wishing everyone well xx

I haven’t meet up with anyone but would be happy to meet for coffee? I’m based in Wimbledon but a could whizz down by train? Im away till the new year so maybe early Jan?
