Hi ladies
a quick question… Any of you being treated at claterbridge? Have u been given the option of using the coldcap? I’ve previously been treated at satellite clinics + cc was never an option but I’m hoping it might be if treated at clatterbridge itself??
Thanks in advance

Hi Tina
My friend was definitely given the cold cap option at the Wirral Clatterbridge. She had to go there rather than have her treatment at Chester. I think it was a long day and it took much longer than treatment without it. She did keep some of her hair, but still needed to wear hats and scarves, as the hair was very thin! and you could see her scalp in places, the advantage for her was when the hair grew back, it didn’t have that ‘post chemo’/american marines look. And reverted back to her normal style MUCH faster than mine did.
Good Luck if you decide to go for it…and have a fantastic Christmas xx
Hi
I had my treatment at Clatterbridge and was never offered cold cap and never saw any one using it the times I was there!!! Didn’t even know it existed till read about it on here! And by then it was too late so never asked if they had it but it is worth asking the question.

Thanks for the replies ladies Think I will call the chemo unit in the morn + ask. I’m thinking that cc should be pretty effective with a chemo that is likely to cause hair thinning as opposed to drastic loss so it mght be worth a shot. Although I HATE being cold so the very thought of cc sends shivers down my spine (qute literally lol!!)
just want to keep things as normal as poss for me + my family if I can. I will let you know how I get on x
PWC- thanks for your replies + bumps on my posts regarding the cc- really appreciate your help + support x
hope uv had a lovely Xmas ladies,
love tina xx
You’re welcome. As you may have realised, I feel strongly about the hair loss issue and equal opportunities to access the cold cap.
Best wishes with everything.
