Hi I’m new on here and have read loads of threads, however I haven’t read about anyone with a grade 2 .I’ve had a 15mm lump removed and 2 lymph nodes which 1 came back with abnormal cell’s. I then had another op to remove all lymph nodes that came back clear. My surgeon said the best treatment would be chemo followed by 3 weeks of rads.Is there anyone out there similar to me please, I would love to hear from you.regards nicho56
I have / had stage 2 invasive breast cancer plus some DCIS. I had a mastectomy because I’m small breasted and the area of the tumour plus DCIS that they needed to remove wouldn’t have left me with much left anyway even though the tumour was 12mm. I had 9 nodes removed and 2 were positive. Sounds like our diagnosis are similar!
I’m 52 and following the mastectomy I’m ha ring 6 cycles of chemotherapy (FEC-T) then 15 zaps of radiotherapy. I was ER+ too so I’ll be having hormone treatment afterwards too.

hi nicho
i also have grade 2, and everything else is the same as me, except my tumor was 28mm. I start my chemo on 30th. followed by radiotherapy.
When do you start your treatment?
Just noticed I put stage 2 not grade 2, although mine is stage and grade 2! (Stage 2A and grade 2)

Hi, this time last year in had just started my first round of chemo. I was diagnosed at stage 2 ductal invasive 11mm. I had lumpectomy and axillary node clearance. 6 rounds of FEC chemo and 4 weeks of radiotherapy. It’s a tough journey, everyone has different experiences but it is doable. Stay positive. I found during chemo keeping myself motivated, even if it is just for a stroll around the block, better than lying about on the sofa. As I said I am a year on and now on Tamoxifen for 5 years with regular followups. I am back to work and back to my normal hours. Keep fighting!
Hi, interesting to read as I am grade 2 and found out yesterday stage 2 b with a tumour ( which wasnt palpable) of 30 mm so much bigger than originally thought, however I am consudered just under the % were chemo would be recommended as standard so have an appointment with the oncologist next week to discuss.
I have just been diagnosed with grade 2 25 MM. Lump, not sure about lymph nodes yet. I’m having a lumpectomy on the 4th April!!! No idea on my treatment plan as yet! Having tests. X
Thanks for responce. MRI tomorrow. How long after surgery until you out what treatment you would be receiving? Glad things have moved on for you. X
Hi I had my MRI - slightly bigger than originally thought, 40 MM instead of 25mm. Plan is still for lumpectomy on the 4th but treatment still up in the air. Depends on results of her2, genetic test and what they find once lump is removed in terms of margins & nodes. Bit shocked lump is bigger than thought but staying positive! Well trying to. X
Hi there… i have just signed up as a neighbour was telling me about this forum and now cant sleep. I just had my lump removed 5days ago and now after reading some threads i do not know enough about what is going on with myself. All i have been told is my lump was 1.8mm and stage 1. I am waiting now on the results from my lymph nodes that where removed but thats not for 1more week yet. When i got iagnised less than 1month ago my lump was only 6mm and had tripled in size in a short space of time which is worrying. Iv been very positive until now but feel it is just hitting me what has happened so far. My wound is weeping and the doctor said it was ok. He told me id have a drain put in but i didnt with no explanation. I also had a reaction to the dye during the operation which sent them into panick as it only happens to 1 in 10.000 and got kept in overnight for but thats ok now. I will need to ask more questions now and try get my head round it. 1 good day jstnow 1 bad. Very emotional… any help is appreciated…
Thanku for your reply Jobey68… yes i meant 1.8cm sorry. I will need to try and calm dkwn as getting myself in a state. I removed my sterile plaster last night as had been at the hospital during the day having it checked for infection and quite red in both areas and weeping a lot but got told it was ok. It had filled a gd bit and i wanted to clean it again and put a fresh dressing on but i near passed out ( im not squeamish ) after it and had to be sick. Im getting so freaked out justnow. Is it ok for your wound to be slightly red all round it and weeping? There is also a fungal type smell. My temp is ok though.
My app is next tues so i will try and forget about size etc grade stage till i know more. All i know justnow is if the lymph is ok i have to get radio in July and be put on Tamoxifen for 5 years so thats the next hurdle. ![]()
Thankyou Lizzy_BCC …
I think i will call the helpline. Just even to go through with someone whats happening and if i should get the wound checked again or even just to speak. Its been a lot to take in within 1month. I will not get my proper results till next Tues from the operation and will need to take things from there. Kindest Regards…
Hi Charys…
