Anyone been invited to join the SWEET research trial?

@betsydale I’ve been post menopausal for many years, since I was 45! I’ve had chemotherapy and surgery, 3 weeks ago. I will need radiotherapy but I haven’t met with the Surgeon and Oncologist about that yet. I was told I’d be on Letrazole for up to 10 years but I’m not sure if that starts after the radiotherapy or when. All will be revealed at the appointment at the end of December!

Yeh I was prescribed exemestane on my 1st planning meeting with the oncology team. Started taking it that day. Had my last radiotherapy session on wednesday so one more follow up app with oncology & then its just five years of meds & annual mammograms
The last six months have been a whirlwind :grimacing:

@betsydale Well done for getting to the end of this stage of treatment/s. You can hopefully relax and enjoy Christmas!!

Maybe I’ll start when i see him next then. I’m seeing the Oncologist at the end of December.

I have had no support or contact since the week after my radiotherapy finished in june. Oncologist rang then to say i was being put on open access after my review in 3 months. That was the end of june. Not had a review yet so 3 months late. Not heard a thing. Not chased it up as have had loads of appointments at birmingham with hubby who has terminal cancer

I’m sorry @polly5 that you’ve had no follow up with your team and can only imagine what you are going through with your husband.

I know the NHS is busy but it’s not nice to feel like you’ve been left. I hope you have some support for you with all you have been going through.

If you do need to talk please call the BCN nurses * Helpline: 0808 800 6000 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm; Sat 9am-1pm). Speak to our trained helpline team. No questions are too big or too small. or MacMillan support line who can help with yourself and your husband, you can obtain support as a carer. Do you have a Maggie’s at your husband’s hospital in Birmingham? They are a great charity that you can pop into without an appointment.

@polly5 I’m sorry to hear about your husband and also that you haven’t been able to access support for yourself. I hope that you will be able to do this before long as you, and your health, are important too.

Love and hugs to you :hugs:
