I was diagnosed in July 07 at the Luton breast screening centre and then under dr ah see at the L and D. I have since had 3x fec at Luton and 3x Tax at Mount Vernon, a WLE in dec07 at the L and D and Rads at MV.Now i am having Herceptin x 17/18 and on Tamoxifen. Where are you in your treatment?
There is a great Cancer group at the breast screening centre on the 1st monday of each month at 7pm that i go to too where i have met alot of lovely people.

I was diagnosed January 2008 at the Luton& Dunstable breast screening centre. I had Ductal invasive in right breast and Lobular invasive in left breast so had a bilateral mastectomy. I am now taking Arimidex as cancer was hormone receptive. I have wondered if there was anyone else from the L&D on this site and now I know there is.

seems there are a few of us here after all… do you also see dr ah see? my breast care nurse is Francis, she has been brilliant. The group is good too for talking and getting to know others who understand where you are coming from, cos although friends and family try they can’t quite understand.

I see Mr Pittam and my breast care nurse is Jan. I have not been in contact with nurse since I was discharged from hospital because I think I was in denial about what had happened and just wanted everything to return to normal!!! Whatever normal is. I was also able to talk to family however six months on they don’t mention it anymore and I don’t want to bore them with my problems. I am at the moment considering reconstruction but don’t know if I can face another operation . I think I might come along to a cancer group meeting. I hate going anywhere for the first time but I probably would benefit from coming along.

hi all
i was dx in sept 07 had lumpectomy and wle in oct. lymph was clear but found spots in margins so mastectomy was reccomended. i did have mri to check other but ok. i also had reconstruction straight away as i was offered it. theres no way i could have had another op. i started chemo in march 6 fec but could only stand 4. i am now due to start herceptin any day soon. i have dr ravi as my consultant, hes been gt. i have francis as my bc nurse and dr ahsee as onc shes brilliant too. i have never been told about meetings but perhaps thats because iam out of the area. also they know i prob wouldnt go as scared stiff of going somewhere new and have been suffering panic attacks re hospital. i have found this site gt and even better now i know people are also being treated at same hosp. all the time i had chemo never saw anyone with bc. have a good weekend all. just a shame not at same stages of treatment.
sue you are neally done with herceptn whats it been like… truth appreciated.
jan reconstruction has been gt. although i took along timeto recover and only feel over it now. still have restricted movements but having physio. i think i made the right choice to have it. but i didnt want to look down at only one. if two were gone it would have been more excepted and i prob wouldnt have recon also depends how old you are and you personal feelings etc. whatever you do make sure its right for you… have a good weekend whats left of it. i am in bedford and its miserable.
