Welcome Pam, and sorry you have to join us but be assured you will have all the support and friendship required to get through this on this site.

I started my chemo four weeks after my operation (lumpectomy and sentinel node removal). We had a holiday booked in February to Tobago, just prior to my operation, which after a lot of soul searching we cancelled. I havnt regretted cancelling as I wanted to concentrate on getting on with what lay ahead. I am now nearing the end of my chemo, last one being 19th June, and after 3 weeks of rads the world will be my oyster until I begin Herceptin. Everyone must decide what is right for them, but whatever you decide we are all behind you.

Love and hugs

Hi Pam

My chemo was quite a bit longer after my op than Mo’s. it was scheduled for 8 weeks after but was delayed for a further two weeks due to a problem with my wound. Why dont you have a word with your Breast Care nurse? She will probably be able to tell you what is the norm in your area, and then you can take your decision.

Wishing you good luck with your treatment

Hi Margaret,
and all who are about to finish chemo shortly.
I finish mine on Friday 13th! (went for WLE on Halloween- do you think someone has it in for me!!! just joking).
I have asked the chemo nurse what time they have booked the brass band and guard of honour for!
Going for the biggest wickedest choc dessert I can find afterwards …even if it makes me sick.( V&T still does).
Love and encouragement to all who are just behind me,
Kay x

Good luck for Friday Kay.

I’m glad it’s not just me that has a sureal sense of timing. Found lump on Boxing day, my first nadir bloods are this friday 13th and my last rads should be on Halloween. May I suggest a nice rich summery black forest gateux and a trip to the black forest to get it (you can guess where I’d like to be can’t you

Hope it’s a nice easy one for you.

Hi
well done you guys, we all love to hear about people getting to the end. Talking about dates, my op was on April Fools Day and absolutely everyone laughed, not one person missed! By the time I told them about being radioactive for the SNB and being blue from the dye (it did go to my face as they said and I still have a blue boob, or blue tit as it has been fondly called!) they were just rolling around and then very contrite and apologising. Good job I can take a joke well. They found the lump on 29 Feb, so no anniversary of that day to remind me for another 4 years.
Hope you all had a good day today, back in for epi 2 tomorrow and target practice to see if they can actually get in my port this time!!
What fun we all have - NOT.
