Hi Jackie

Sorry can’t help you as not had the symptoms you have said, have had 3 x FEC and just had 1 taxotere so far. I think you should ring your bc nurse, chemo ward or onc and tell them how you are feeling and they can change your medication to help you. You shouldn’t have to suffer like this. So don’t keep quiet, speak up and tell them. So that hopefully you will get through it easier.

Take care
Love

Hi Jackie
I was violently sick with FEC#2…oddly #1 was OK. I was very dizzy too (hmm no change there). Totally agree with Dawn, you should ring your chemo unit, they will probably give you something extra or ‘up’ your dose of existing steroids - they did for me and I was fine for FEC#3.

Good luck.

My middle name is now dizzy!

Hi all,

I did ring the chemo ward, but the nurse hadnt heard of this side effect so soon after chemo as was less than 24 hours!!! But she did say maybe I need more anti-sick prior to chemo next time

I feel much better this morning and thinking about it now I had been given a lot of sedation prior to my Hickman line going in just prior to the chemo. so I guess it could have been the remains of that, I am not good with anything that causes sleepness at the best of time!

I will mention prior to next chemo and see what happens, ta for help.

Fairly new here as you know but been reading most of the comments, you ‘oldies’ women are wonderful and a true souce of help to us ‘newbies’, LOL I am not referring to your ages.

Baby boo is that because your blonde, LOL, I am wig chosing Tuesday, I have reddish hair- might go blonde, husband said he wanted a blonde bombshell. He was joking, well I hope he was joking !!!

Ha ha do I give a blond inpression…LOL no…I am brown but white…LOL well…maybe I should go blonde!

Hi Jackie
I have had 6 of 8 treatments so far. I have suffered with dizziness and lightheadedness after each one which lasted for two weeks after treatment. My Onc changed my anti-emetics last time as I had switched from epirubicin to CMF and had no sickness. The ondansetron was stopped and she gave me cylizine which I feel is helping heaps with the dizziness. The only downside is it can cause dowsiness but it doesn’t seem to affect me in this way.

Its a case of trial and error. I am sure that I will have mastered the art of controlling side effects by the end of my treatment!!

Have fun trying on those wigs!!

Carly,
you poor thing, glad things have improved tho, I cant stand feeling dizzy, it is worse than being sick!!!

I still have my hair at the mo, so hope wig wont end up being to loose when I need it, was advised to get wig sooner rather than later, I have approx 3 weeks before I lose it if the liturature is to be believed. I have had my first chemo so I guess it is to late now to try cold cap, I have very thick long hair so the nurse tells me, after chemo!!!, Oh the cap might work for you as your hair is so thick!!! Well to late now!!!

Baby boo…I am white too but with my colouring would look dreadful blonde, so going to get a wig as near to my natural colour as poss, reddish, might go for one with copper low lights…might also see what blonde looks like for a laugh…dont expect I will laugh to much when it comes out tho and I really do need the wig…still cross that bridge when the time comes I guess.

Take care all
