anyone else had ascites and breast cancer spread to stomach

hi there

two years down the road from having treatment for breast cancer. which was surgery, 6 x fec and tamoxifen and bonifos, for secondaries in bones.
now ive ascites in my tummy lining and am waiting to start chemo on 11th january, which thankfully is going to be tablet form.
i have had a drain for a fortnight which kept tummy down, but theyve had to remove it, incase of infection, and will just have to go and have it drained when it becomes too bad again.
i just wondered if anyone else had had this happen, i dont know where im at, they cant tell me the outcome, it depends on response to chemo. but if anyone else as been through this i would so welcome some advice. ive been shattered the last few weeks, not even getting up a lot, but am on steriods to build me up, so at least sitting up some of the time now.

thanks for listening, hope someone can help x

Hi everyday matters
i am so sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time at the moment - i am sorry that i have not had the same experience as you have had but i am sure if anyone has they will respond - just wanted to wish you well with the new treatment and hope it works for you … with love , jayne x

My father in law had ascites - his cancer was colon which was already stage 4 when he was diagnosed - spread to his liver…

I know that with him the fluid returned several times and he kept having to go into hospital to have it drained… it seemed to be that there was more fluid each time he was drained - not sure if that was just typical of the type of cancer he had…

I hope that your new chemo has a good effect… {{{hugs}}} i know he was also very tired and breathless…

Take care

Theresa x

Just to add - this all happened a few years after his original diagnosis and by then he had used all his chemo options…
