I had my first FEC last Thursday (14th Oct). Wiped out for the first two days, only sick once - on first evening. Since then, (apart from the lack of appetite, funny mouth and poor sleep)I feel woozy headed all the time - a bit like after you’ve had flu and start to get up again. Doesn’t seem to be improving though - am I just being impatient? It’s hard to do paperwork like jobs or post on the forum.
I can’t imagine trying to type an inventory, which is what I do.
Having my 3rd next Friday and yes I feel woozy most of the time! My memory is shot and I have found it worse the first week afterwards a little better second week then as I start to improve it’s back to chemo! I could not work as I am so tired as well and certainly dare not drive! Just looking forward to getting it over with. Have had tummy problems along with IBS which I had to start with. Funny I thought I would be ready for all feeling sick etc but nope a bit nauseous for a couple of days and then fine, this goes to show it’s the stuff you aren’t looking for that gets you! Good luck with the rest of your treatment.
It’s reassuring to know others find the same problems. Guess I have to be more patient. I allow myself a sleeping tablet every third night and that’s tonight, so hopefully a good night’s sleep will help.
As you can see I managed to get this thread in ‘How to get Started!’ - never mind. Here’s to feeling better soon to you all.
To me it felt like a combination of a hangover and the first 3 months of pregnancy when you just feel grotty - not that I ever was hungover and pregnant, but you know what I mean. Hang on in there - it won’t be for long.
finty x
I had FEC (and Taxol) last year and yes, feeling woozy is very common. I used to feel totally cr*p for about 48 hrs after each one, a bit like flu/a hangover. Then a bit spaced out for about a week. After that I usually felt ok until the next dose, albeit very absent minded and a bit tired. I once completely forgot where I’d parked my car in a multi storey car park I was convinced it had been stolen !
Onestep - I did that once and reported my car stolen. I was at Bluewater (huge shopping centre in Kent) and hadn’t realised there were two identical multi story car parks either side of John Lewis. I got confused and was looking in the wrong one - spent ages checking every floor, getting more and more panicky. Eventually phoned the police, who had clearly dealt with similar idiots before, and very patiently explained where I had gone wrong. That was before bc - so no excuse, just stupidity.
That sounds normal! i felt in a fog throughout chemo.brain and memory got worse with each round and my co ordination was terrible! my daughter kept saying “clumsy mummy”
it does improve
be kind to yourself, rest, sleep ,snack and good luck
Feeling a bit more normal today. Still a bit foggy but I can think through it. Also I have recovered a bit of appetite and enjoyed a cup of tea. Hooray.
Now to replace the 6lb I’ve lost this week - before the next chemo!
