Anyone from Brighton?

Hi there - Is there anyone from Brighton newly diagnosed who would like to hook up?

I’m 47 with two small boys (3 and 7). I was diagnosed last Wednesday at the Park centre and am waiting for my MRI scan on 29th  - suspect this is going to be a very long week. Swinging from being really positive to totally despairing and struggling to sleep (hence this post at 3am!). My husband is being totally supportive but I know that only someone who is going through the same thing will understand.

Hi Elaine, I’m in Brighton too, same age as you but a bit further along in my treatment as had my surgery mid-Aug and starting chemo on Weds.  If it helps, my very worst time emotionally was at the stage you’re at now, waiting for the MRI (are you going to Eastbourne for that?) and then waiting for the results of the MRI.  Once you know what you’re dealing with it all becomes a bit easier and you can just focus on each stage of the treatment, and I have felt pretty positive/normal since then.   Don’t know whether I will be able to meet in person, as not yet sure how I will feel during chemo (the next big unknown!)  but if I can, I will, and in any case, very happy to chat on the forum, or via email or phone (don’t know how to make that happen but I’m sure there must be a way to direct message on here?). Good luck tomorrow…if you are going to the Esperance they’re very nice and it will be over in a flash (limited selection of music though - you might want to take a cd and see if they will play that instead). Hi, I’m from Brighton. I was diagnosed in 2010. If you fancy a chat just let me know.

Hello I live in Burgess hill and have just had my first chemo. Feel really terrible yesterday and this morning and gonna phone onc team to see what I can do as pain killers don’t touch the pain I feel?
Hope your treatments are progressing ok?
Best wishes
Marian
