hi girls thought id say hi im in brighton to just fin chemo off to see surgeon wed for op date full mx any tips on what to ask and what to wear in hos be great not sure on bras nightwear im off to h heath to how did u get on up there were they nice be nice to compare notes hope y both ok laura

The best thing I was told was to get something loose fitting so larger than you’d normally have. You don’t want anything tight around your armpits/chest area. Tends to be quite hot in hospital too so something cool. I found it difficult to find button up things so something very easy to slip over your head as you may find you have some arm/shoulder stiffness post op.
I don’t think you’ll be wanting a bra while in hospital although the breast care nurse may visit to provide you with a ‘softie’ prostheses to use when you get home. I just bought a M&S soft sports type bra that wouldn’t be too tight around chest to use.

I am attending the planning meeting on the 22nd at Royal Sussex hospital and i am assuming starting radiation soon after that, i was thinking all of october, I am also on Tamoxifen and not enjoying it, having stopped it for WEEK and felt better i will be asking for advice to whetehr i can be given anything else. I have had two lumpectomy June/ July -09 4 LYMH nodes( no involved)and radiation.
I was just wonedering as we might be thre daily we could meet and go for a chat,pleAse let me know if interested. I am travelling from Worthing.

Looks like you may be finished before I start. I will be having last chemo on 5 October so I should be feeling better towards end of the month. I would be happy to meet up with you even if I haven’t started by radiotherapy by then. My family live in Brighton so I often pop over and it would be good to have a chat with someone else who is going through all of this.
I’ll try and PM you tomorrow and then we can keep in touch if you’d like to.
