Anyone from Nw (Lancashire)about?

HI Anybody in Lancashire about ? Having treatment in Preston.
jean

Hi jean,

I’m from NW, but have finished my treatment now, I had my rads at Preston, rosemere centre, staff there are fab, I haven’t had chemo though, so probably not helpful really if your going through that, hope there is someone else out there from our neck of the woods, that is of more help to you.

Take care x

I’m in the north of Lancs and had my treatment (and still do) at Lancaster with rads at Preston. I was diagnosed in July 07 with primaries and secondaries at the same time - had chemo, surgery and then rads so am much further down the line than you but if I can be of any help, give me a shout.

The rads staff at Preston are fab, I agree, and all very friendly and helpful.

Good luck and perhaps speak to you sometime.

Liz

PS - Just seen your other posts. So sorry to hear your diagnosis and I can sympathise with the panic you must be feeling at the mo. My bc was normal idc not ibc so I can’t help you there I’m afraid and my mets are bone ones, although I had a lot of lymph affected and quite aggressively. The chemo followed by the surgery sorted most of the little blighters out for me. I don’t have herceptin either. So with reflection, I’m probably no help to you at all but if there is anything in my experiences that would be of any use, just shout!!

Hi Liz, thanks for your message, all contact on here is helpful, don’t feel so alone now I have new friends on here who understand , sometimes words of advice are n’t needed just being there is enough to get me through a bad patch, Today was a good day for me as the ultrasound on my healthy breast showed nothing to worry about, its been a tough week and I came out of hospital smiling today ,
Thanks again,
Jean

Hi Jean

I had Chemo in Blackpool but my Oncologist was from Preston followed by Rads at the Rosemere Centre in Preston, the staff were lovely and really put me at ease. It coming up to a year on for me but still (and probably always will) remember how scary things can be. Hope things go well for you, best wishes

Hi avril,

Bumping this up for you, unfortunately there aren’t many of us from up north, I think there’s a Manchester thread running somewhere, but there may be someone out there nearer Preston for you to meet, my treatment has finished and I’m back at work, so not able to meet up.
Take care x

Hi there ladies’
I am from Kirkham which is between Preston and Blackpool.
I have had my surgey, all 3 at Blackpool Vic and am half way thru chemo (FEC-T) had first tax today and am having Rads at Preston but not sure of details yet as about 9 weeks till I get to that bit.
Best wishes Bev.

hi im from blackpol just been told i have to have another op plus cheno and rads feeling a bit scared at the moment and wondered wheatfer to have a mas op instead of anothet lum p rem any info app dandydirl

Hi Dandygirl,
I am attending Blackpool Vic’s Windmill unit for my chemo, last tax on 30/6 of 6 FEC-T chemo sessions. I have had WLE, SNB, and following 2 lymph nodes being positive had full clearance of nodes. It has been quite a ride so far but getting through the chemo is a step futher on and one I shall be vry glad to get through. I have rads and tamoxifen coming next but not thinking that far ahead, well trying not to!
I hope your treatment is going ok, I found the surgery wasn’t too bad but like most was dreading the chemo and all the side effects.
Best wishes Bev x

Hello,

I’m from Lancaster, just about to undergo rad planning at Rosemere in Preston. Would be great to hear from others on the same path. I know there are hundreds of us in the same situation - but it still feels kind of lonely!
