Anyone got BC in both breasts?

Hi all, I’m very new to the forum but have been reading snippets over the last few days, the support available is heartwarming. I noticed a change in my left breast and went to the GP straight away, after mammography, biopsies and MRI it’s been confirmed IDC with lymph node involvement left breast and ILC in right breast don’t know if lymph nodes involved SNB being done during op 22/05. Grade 3 left, grade 2 right but don’t know staging yet. All of it is a total shock but the fact that both are involved has really shaken me. WLE has been recommended for both followed by probably chemo and RT and then tamoxifen. I’ve been reading the threads on the forum and find it hugely helpful to see that lots of other people are in the same boat and coming through it. the constant waiting from one test/procedure/appointment to the next is the hardest thing at the moment but that seems to be a common reaction!

Hi Pennyfarthing

Firstly, welcome to the forums, I’m sorry to read of your diagnosis, the first few days and weeks are always difficult when coming to terms with things and getting to grips with your treatment plans, etc.

Whilst you a waiting for the other user to reply with their experiences and knowledge you might find it helpful to order the BCC resources pack. It has been specifically designed for those newly diagnosed and contains information to help you better understand your diagnosis, test results and the various treatments available. If you would like to order a copy just follow the link bellow:-

Also, do give the helpline a ring if you need any further support or information. They’re on 0808 800 6000. Open 9-5 Monday to Friday and 10-2 Saturday.

Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator

Hi Pennyfarthing.

very sorry to hear your news,   you will get loads of support on here, it’s not easy but you can get there.

I would just concentrate on one stage at a time. There is so much waiting involved, and that is so very stressful.  Waiting for results, appointments,  treatments and waiting for your body to heal.

I have good days when I get stuff done and the just can’t be bothered days when moving from the sofa is just too much effort.

Your emotional strength is definitely linked to how you feel physically so be good to yourself, post on here and we will be listening.

Take care
