Anyone got some advice?

Perhaps there is someone out there who can give me something positive having been through similar to my friend. She has had a masectomy and also had 7 out of 11 lymph nodes infected and is about to undergo chemotherapy. Understandably she would like to hear about anyone who has been in a similar situation. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Just bumping this up for you! x

Zoonie, I only think you haven’t had many responses as so many of us have gone through mastectomy, node involvement and chemo!

What exactly do you want to know? How does your friend feel about her mastectomy?

I’ve had an mx, have done 8 sessions of chemo and am due to start radiotherapy next week. My cancer is receptive to hormones and her2 and I had 20 out of 23 lymph nodes affected.

I’ve been well enough to go to work throughout (I’m a librarian, so desk based), and have taken (I worked out the other day) 29 days off sick since this all started in September last year.

There are lots of posts on here from people in your friends position, and we all react differently to the treatments, react differently to the emotions it stirs up, some of us work, some take some time off, some have supportive partners, friends, family, others aren’t so lucky.

I do wish your friend well during her treatment - lots of us can identify xxx

Yes l was wondering too Flora29!
Perhaps it would be better to put the post in ‘Living with Breast cancer’ rather than Family.partners and friends!
Hope your friend gets the answers she wants and her treatment goes well for her, a very frightening time when nodes are involved, l also had a large number involved 16/18 very hard to sink in and very frightening

Hi Zoonie

If you would like this thread moving to ‘Undergoing treatment for breast cancer’ or ‘living with breast cancer’ as Sandra has suggested, where it would be seen by more users in a similar position please let me know and I can move it for you. Your other option is to repost it there and start a new thread.

Best wishes
Lucy
