Anyone had an uplift on good boob to match reconstruction

I had a tram reconstruction and will be having an uplift on my good boob to match my reconstruction.Hasanyone had this and what is the op and recovery like?

I have had an uplift on “good boobs” I have to say it was very painful and the recovery time is probably a week to ten days until you really feel well again. I was on a morphine pump for 24 hours to help with the pain. As you are only having one boobie done it probably won’t be as painful as having two! Also I have huge boobs, 36 E so again there was alot of boob to lift and cut open. If you are smaller probably won’t be as painful. My lumpectomy has given me a bit of pain, but nothing compared to the uplift, so be prepared to give yourself alot of resting time after. My operation took four hours, so again thats quite along time to be under.

But I was so happy with the end results, and would do it again!!!

PS there were MENTAL HEALTH issues for me having this done, and I have explained this in another thread! It was not done for vanity.

Hi
I had one boob reduced in January, very glad I had it done. unlike Jules I had very little pain, just the odd paracetamol, and had it done as a day case, had to go for a check up the day after, I was a 38c not sure what I am now, but I match which is great. Had about 5 weeks off work, but I had a small wound infection, could have gone back to work after 3 weeks (work in operating theatres so obviously an infection hazard here).
Go for it
Good luck Ann

Had an uplift in my good one at the same time as my recon in Jan is rather painful ,but he removed my nipple and repositioned it so that area was a bit sore and still is …waiting for a nipple on the mastectomy side now and then will have a matching pair …despite the pain .worth but I had immediate recon so didnt know any different you go for it !!!

I had an uplift on the breast where I’d had the cancer, & nipple moved with repositioning of breast tissue to hide the defect. Also had my ‘good’ breast reduced to match the smaller one (34FF to 34D - maybe a C once the swelling has gone down), with resizing and repositioning of the nipple. It was a 4-hour op, with a 2-day stay in hospital.

It’s very difficult to say how painful something is going to be, since it’s such a subjective thing. However, I only needed the morphine for a couple of hours post op, and then a couple of paracetamol. My arm movement was a bit limited for a couple of days after the op, but I did my exercises and regained the arm movement completely within the week. I’m still not comfortable (my op was 3 weeks ago), but at no time would I describe it as having been painful. If you’ve breast fed, then you will probably understand when I say that, for me, it’s like feeling permanently engorged without being able to feed your baby.

Having said that, I’m thrilled with the result so far. It took me several years before I decided on the reconstruction. I spoke to a lot of people who had had reconstructive surgery, and everyone was positive about it. My own experience is very similar. It’s wonderful to have a matching pair after all this time, and the prospect of doing without the prosthesis and not having to worry about what I’m going to be able to wear. And then, there’s the nice underwear…

After the reconstruction you’ve already had, I should think the uplift would be relatively minor. You won’t regret it.
