As the title says I’m looking for any expieriences from people to how they went on good and bad with the procedure and any advice or tips on going through the surgery and recovery.

I didn’t have a double mastectomy but single MX with immediate reconstruction using Free Diep Flap. I cannot fault the care and attention given by everyone from the nursing staff to the consultants to the cleaners and even the ward clerks.
They are superb and still months on give as much care and attention to me as an out-patient as they did when I was an in-patient. You will be well looked after.

Must be same surgeon as mine is the lady!
I am having prophylactic mastectomys so I won’t be having chemo or radio and I’m also skin sparing.
Did you go straight to a ward after surgery or did you have a room of your own? How did you cope with the heat that is needed after the op?
And would you recommend certain things like drain bags etc
