Anyone had MRI screening?

Just wondered if anyone with BRCA1 or 2 has been offered MRI screening following treatment. I finished treatment 1st September 2006 (IDC Grade 3 lymph node involvement treated with WLE, chemo/rads/tamoxifen) and have had a mammogram January 2007 which was OK. Since found to have BRCA2, had oophorectomy, but opted not to have mastectomy - not vain, but can’t face the operation - so fed up with it all. Been advised by genetics counsellor, and read on NICE guidelines, that yearly MRI screening is valuable to high risk women.
I asked about this at the Marsden, but was told it is not available - presumably due to the cost? I have had niggling aches and pains - backache, rib pain, painful shoulder & under arm area, and am awaiting X-ray results - probably will be fine, but I think I would be more reassured if I could have a yearly MRI. Anyone paid for MRIs themselves, or been able to get them on NHS? Any advice would be wonderful.
