I am 9 weeks post-mastectomy, SLNB with immediate SGAP flap reconstruction on my right breast and I’m wondering if what I’m experiencing is normal so would welcome insight from anyone who has had the same (or similar).
I have been massaging the reconstructed breast and the firmness is reduced except for the lower right side which shows no signs of softening. Also a couple of days ago I noticed a lump under my breast in much the same place as my original cancer. Is this to be expected? I’ve started worrying that somehow I still have cancer despite getting the all clear. Also, I still have pain in the centre of my chest which I presume is my blood vessels still heeling, am I right? How long might this last?
I’m going to speak to the BCN tomorrow but just had to get my thoughts out as hopefully it will help me sleep!
