I start my 25 rads at The Beatson on 11 January, staying at The Pond Hotel for the 5 weeks, anyone else doing this that would like to buddy up?
I think that means that either no-one else is starting rads in Jan at Glasgow or no-one wants to chum up! I’m really sad about that.
It will be very hard going thru it on my own.
Hi. I’ve just joined this site and felt quite sad when I read your post. I finished my 30 rads in January and I was lucky enough to be taken there and back by Ayrshire Cancer Support volunteer drivers every day. They were the friendliest bunch of people I’ve ever met. I don’t want to be nosey but do you need to stay at the Hotel for 5 weeks. The treatment itself is painless and you’re in and out like a yo-yo! You don’t say where you’re from, maybe its too far to travel each day. Anyway, I hope you find someone to keep you company.

I am returning to work in Jan/Feb on a phased return but would love to meet up with you for a coffee in Glasgow if you would like to do that one day for a blether.

So sorry, you don’t seem to be having much luck. I’m having rads at the Beatson now but the last one is due on 21st December. I would have been happy to meet up with you but it’s 70 mile round trip for me and I’ll be glad when I don’t have to do it anymore. Like JaniceA I am being ferried about by volunteer drivers.
It seems a shame you have to be away from home for so long since the actual treatment only takes a few minutes each day. I hope everything goes smoothly and you’re back home before you know it.

Hi Jan, Its a 70 mile trip there and 70 miles back for me. I will get home at the weekends and get taken back on a Monday morning. Just thought it would be nice to have someone elso to share it with so to speak.
