Hi,I am 29 and I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 weeks ago. I have to have all treatments. I had my mastectomy last week and got out of hospital this week. I wondered if there was anyone of a similar age in the Brighton Hove area that are going through this to or just been through it. I feel like Id find it easier to meet and talk to women going through the same thing as friends, family, partner don’t understand 100% what I’m going through.
Im dealing and coping with it as much as I can right now but have so many worries about the future and what im going through now. It would feel nice to know im not alone.
Emily, Hi I am in Worthing - and although 38 - only feel 25!! I had mastectomy and recon on 22nd Sept and am just shuffling around at home at the moment as I cant drive … I am waiting to hear if I need chemo at the moment as they hope its all gone having had the mastectomy. Where did you have yours done? I went to East Grinsted and had Mr Nduka…

Ive just found a lump and cant get in contact with anyone and its driving me mad. Theres been a real lack of emotional support to and Ive had no calls from my BC nurse to ask how im doing. Its quite scary coming out of hospital and not knowing whats normal or not. Did you have a full recon or have an expander put in?
It sounds like you’re having a really tough time at the moment. May I suggest you give the BCC helpline a call as here you will be able to share your worries and concerns with a trained member of staff who will offer you support and information. The staff here are all either breast care nurses or people who have personal experience of breast care issues. The number to call is 0808 800 6000 the lines open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturdays 9am - 2pm.
You may also find BCC’s resource pack helpful, it has been designed for those newly diagnosed and has lots of helpful information. If you would like a copy just follow this link:- breastcancercare.org.uk//content.php?page_id=7514
