Anyone notice a monthly trend on Arimidex

Have now been on Arimidex for 10 months and every month around the same date I wake up totally drenched - not the normal nightly waking up hot and sweating. It is really odd. Also as I am waking up every single morning I have a hot flush. This also happened when I was on Tamoxifen 17 years ago. I never got an answer then apart from maybe an adrenaline surge. Anyone with a similar situation please let me know I am not going mad!! Also muscle aches and joint pains seems to come and go and move from place to place.

Hi Olivia

I have been on Arimidex for about 4 months and have also found that if I have more than one glass of wine I have about 8 hot flushes during the night. If I lay off the booze, I have about two. Anyone else found this connection. I find I have a hot flush as soon as I wake up - and then I have to get up - it’s almost better than an alarm clock but now I’m retired it’s a real pain!

Sharon - agree with you totally. After much trial and error I find that one glass of champagne is OK but red, rose or white wine gives me much worse hot flushes in the night. It just is not fair!

I’m on Aromasin which acts in a similar way to Arimidex. I’ve been on it since last July. I also get a hot flush as I wake up - and also wake up so drenched sometimes that I need to change my nightie in the middle of the night. There is a definite link with alcohol - during a recent diet to lose weight I didn’t drink any alcohol and the hot sweats and flushes nearly disappeared.
Take care everyone

i have been on arimidex since the 7th of jan, my hot flushes/sweats are horrendous regardless of if i drink a glass of wine or not! but it could be the natural menopause as well kicking in (had the full job on the womb, cervex, ovaries and tubes in dec 07), i did get some clonidine off the gp that works as long as you keep increasing the dose!!!
