I have my second chemo on the 4th.First one went ok, am sure you will be fine.I felt a bit sicky the first couple of days but made sure i took anti sickness tablets and that helped.Everyone has different experiences and this forum is great for advice and support.
I was dx with lobular cancer on 22may , was told i had to have mastectomy and lymph nodes taken.I decided to have a double didnt want to leave anything to chance ,which is 30% big enough percentage for me.I have 3xfec then 3xdocetaxel then 3-5 weeks of rads.

Hi Weezer, I’m starting chemo on Wednesday 4th, very nervous even though it’s 2nd lot of chemo, had one course before op. What chemo are you having? I’m having taxotere this time, have read it has lots of side effects so not looking forward to it! Hope Friday goes ok for you.

Hi,im on 4th leg of tact 2 trial which is accelarated epi then chemo tablets to take at home.
i am going to be on FEC 6 lots 3 weeks apart, take care every one x

2 days and counting,hope we all gonna be ok,not too many side affects,just a worry,fearing the unknown,especially since every one seems to react differently,just keep hoping you gonna be one of the lucky ones, any way you are all in my thoughts and prayers, take care x

Hi. Had first tax today, phew one down 3 to go! Procedure better than I thought, and so far feeling fine apart from flushed due to steroids! Look like I’ve had a good few wks in sun! Making the most of feeling ok cos i’m sure side effects will kick in soon!

Hi Mandolinwind, thinking it might be today you were having chemo? If so hope it went ok? Weezer yours is tomorrow isn’t it? Good luck! Mine went ok, still feeling ok so I’ve been fine to take my little boy for his first day in reception so am delighted, cos I was worried incase I didn’t feel well. Worst thing so far is the effect of the steroids… looking very much like a tomato!

Just want to wish you all the best with treatment - no, not my idea of a treat either! Thought it might be good to hear from someone half way through my 6FECs and feeling good! Usually feel totally wiped ( KATT as I prefer to think of it - Knackered All The Time!) for a few days after chemo but it passes- drink loads of water!! But then I go into BAAB (Bright As A Button!) - which I am now-Going to celebrate my 60th birthday in Luxury flat in Royal Crescent Bath 13th sept with all my family - yippee! Great to have something to look forward to - being totally bald I have earned a new name - bit of a biscuit - Granny Baldy! Gave in to hair loss as soon as it really started to go and decided not to go down the wig path - just wear lots of hats - not at once…and everyone tells me how great I look - just thought I’d let you know it really is doable - staying positive is hard but very rewarding!

Hi I am 37 and was diagnosed on 26.06.08 and have had a lumpectomy initially followed by a left mastectomy and lymph removal. Recovered moreorless from the op and am just coming to the end of my first chemo and due to have my second of FEC next Tuesday. Don’t worry too much. I know it effects everyone differently but I have been so far so good - the tiredness is a pain but I just crash out whenever and whereever! I am carrying on with as much of my social activities as i can at the moment because I am suspecting that from hereon in my symptoms will get a bit worse and I will be damned if some disease is cramping my style!! My scalp is sore today because my hair has started going and I haven’t got the bottle to shave it all off yet. Have got a great wig which I sourced myself and it actually has the same highlights in that I have in my own hair - people keep asking me if I have just had it done! The steroids following my first FEC were a pain - because my treatment was late on I was awake all night. I then had a mad breakout of spots which I have not suffered from since I was a teenager! I still went camping for the bank holiday weekend three days after treatment - I must be mad!!
Be positive that you are going to get through - the treatment is a means to an end which is hopefully positive for us all - most of all have a good laugh with your nearest and dearest!

Just to let you all know,i couldnt go for my first Fec today. was really ill all wednesday night in bed,Sikness,runs,a banging headache,shivers all thouhgh i was red hot,but the most frightening of all i was struggling to breath never been so scared in my life.Any way my gp been out today,says its gastorenteritis,Been in bed all day mainly sleeping,as i was exhausted.My sister let chemo unit know,and looks like i have to wait 2 more weeks now,gutted cos i had got myselfe all phyched up for it,now got to go through all that again,ah well suppose it was better to get this bug before ,not after my chemo. good luck to every one else,take care x

Get well and strong for a fortnight hence - timing was good- would’ve hit you hard if you’d started chemo!

So sorry to hear you are not well Mandolinwind and to hear you cant have chemo when you’d got all geared up for it.

I had my 2nd Epi yesturday, so far so good.
Smiler11 - Yay 1 down! Glad your feeling ok hoping this contiunes for you. I found drinking plenty of water helped, 2/3 litres a day for the first few days.Listen to your body and ask for help when you need it. Glad you were able to take your little one to his 1st day at ‘big’ school, a day that no mother wants to miss, weel done!
Weezer - Probably too late but good luck for today, I hope it went well.
Chebsy - Have a great time at the spa, keep clear of bathing while on chemo young lady! Hope you have a fantastic birthday.
Mando - Really sorry to hear you have being so ill and your 1st chemo is delayed but you really do want to be on form for it. Hope your feeling better very soon.

Hi Everyone, Hope you are all doing ok and treatments went ok with not too many side effects! I was ok til Saturday lunchtime when the aches and pains and exhaustion satrted! Been in bed since and just dragged myself out of bed to do some juicing but i think that’s my energy gone again! Still on the positive that’s one treatment down and I do feel a little more with it today so hopefully each day will see me with more energy! Think its this next weekend you re away for your Birthday Chebsy? Hope you have a fab time! Hope everyone is doing ok.
