Anyone with brain mets

Hi girls. I rarely have time to come on here but try to check on folks from time to time.

I had brain met removed 1st feb and since done WBRT and currently in the midst of nasty effects such as chronic fatigue, total hair loss, burnng red scalp and forehead, running nose, extreme fluid retention which has brought back my lymphodoema so badly my recon breast is square and my arm so large I can’t wear sleeves and also causing severe shoulder pain. My abdomen is bloated terribly looking like I’m expecting.

All this in the past week without warning not to mention ulcers, colitis and skin hacks. I look plagued! It’s given my confidence a big knock.

Anyway that’s my moan but I really just wanted to hear from you other girls out there and hear how you are and hopefully hear some positive news or compare war wounds I don’t mind. Interested too in the planned regime your Oncologists have chosen following brain mets.

Oh signet I’m so sorry to hear it’s been really hard going…hang in there and I hope you turn that corner very, very soon and can enjoy a much easier time of it all. Sending your message up to the top again…Take Care…xxx

Hi signet

Just wanted to say hi too. Sorry if i’ve missed your news about this in a previous thread, but I don’t come on here very much any more either. So sorry you’ve got it so shitty at the moment and hope like belinda that things improve soon.

Love, Alison x

Hi Signet,
Just wanted to know that I can empaphise with you on many of your symptoms. I’m 2 weeks post WBRT now and the fatigue is incredible. My forehead looks loke raw steak and obviously no hair either. I don’t have any of the rest but thinking of you

Hi everyone, glad this thread has picked up again was feeling very lonely and lost.

I am due to see Onc in 3 weeks time to discuss yet further changes to treatment which looks like its Tax so it means I will qualify for the Twkberg(?) spel).

Im on steroid overload and eating anything and everything so need to get that in order before start of Tax.

Does anyone else have the hand shakes? If so how you dealing with them??

Thinking of you all, its good to have more support

cheers Ann B xx

Hi Ann
I imagine the hand shakes are from the steroids. I’m weening off steroids after my RT and finish Monday but even a tiny dose makes me shakky- better than headaches though
all the best
