Anyone

Hi, definitely will need a chill pill and humour ! Good advice re a good book :+1:

I was warned at my planning meeting that male radiographers would be present and had the choice to agree or request female only with a strong suggestion that my treatments would be delayed. Personally I’m at the ā€˜I don’t give a shit’ phase :joy: and just want it done! But I understand how uncomfortable it can be and we are all different.

Good luck for the start of your treatment, hope it all goes smoothly xx

Yes, they said the same to me… also pressing the point that there would be a delay if I insisted … I told them that was fine, so long as it was understood that if I think there is any inappropriate touching/behaviour, I am likely to ā€œgrabā€and squeeze really bloody hard!
Im not sure if the radiologist thought I was joking- I wasn’t :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

But, hay ho, they can’t say I didn’t warn ā€˜em. :woman_shrugging: I’m on hormone therapy, what do they expect?? :exploding_head:

Yep- good book and plenty of data on your phone :+1: :kissing_heart:

Hiya all,

On gowns, paper etc, I was given a gown for the duration and asked to take it home and bring it back each day. You do have to have your girl(s) out for the treatment and it is chilly so maybe wear something warm on your legs and take a flask with a hot drink afterwards?

I’m glad you’ve been warned at least about make radiographers. I’d have been fine if I’d been forewarned but was rather surprised and unsettled because of the surprise element.

Hi @bellalasagne1, what a great initiative re loaning a gown at your hospital, I think that’s very thoughtful. Good suggestion re warm drink. Thanks x

Well ladies I had my Oncology appt on Thursday . He couldn’t have acted more disinterested if he tried. Even had to ask me which boob it was . I was less than impressed. In fact I was pissed off. Going forward will have bone density scan in the next couple of weeks. Mark up appt in two weeks and radiotherapy starting two weeks after that for 10 days. I am so looking forward to not having hospital appts. How is everyone ??

Hi @smak, that’s so horrible to hear about your oncologist’s reaction, what a tw*t! I’m not sure what to suggest, but maybe speak to your nurse, if you have one? Hopefully you find the radiographers more engaging and caring. Good luck with the scan x

Hay hon, how are you lovie? We’ve all missed you… hope you are doing ok :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Thank you for checking in on me. I’m not in a straight jacket YET !! My barbecued boob is just that …..barbecued !!! My nipple looks like it belongs to an elephant. The red patch above it is sore and arm movements more restricted since R/T Worst of all ya the tirednessi./ fatigue. Not sure which it is . Don’t even know the difference. I’m calling it sleepyitis. It’s overwhelming , Not sure if it’s from the R/T or Letrozole. I sleep at least four hrs everyday day. I may pick up my phone and start to write a message and fall asleep before I’ve sent it. Not helpful when I was saying I would meet someone in 15 mins and woke up two hrs later

The above was written last week and I nodded off before finishing. Has anyone had their follow up appt yet ? I have mine later today . Should be the last appt at the hospital where I had the Radiotherapy. Alleluia !!! I am not going to think about the repeat MRI on my other boob till next year. Hope all you lovely ladies are doing well x

Hey Sheelagh, lovely to hear from you x

Have a read of our other channel where most of us have had fatigue - that’s the overwhelming tiredness you’re having that’s not resolved by sleep. It’s due to everything; the stress, surgery, radio and the emotional rollercoaster that keeps on giving.

Hopefully you’ve had your follow up appt now and some professional advice but don’t forget the BBBs are here, just message us if you want a chat/rant/laugh and we’ll do what we can to help. There’s also the BCN nurses on here as well of course.

Take it easy, look after yourself, and we’ll look forward to hearing from you soon.

B and the BBBs xxxx
