appointment tomorrow

Hi All
I am 53 years old and very scared.
I have my appointment tomorrow after being refered by my GP nearly 4 weeks ago. I have an inverted nipple and my doctor could feel a lump. This has been the longest 4 weeks of my life I have alternated
between being sure there is nothing wrong with me, to checking out my life assuranece policy and telling my husband where to find it!
Now the time is nearly here I am just plain scared.
The appointment is at a one stop clinic, does this mean I will find out straight away or will I have to wait for the results?
Any advice would be gratefully received

It is now the day and I have been awake since 4am.

Hi Barefik,

My heart goes out to you, this is absoulutely the worst part isn’t it, the waiting. I’m sorry I can’t answer your question about the one stop clinic as I was backwards and forwards a bit before I was diagnosed in May 2007. I suspect they will have a pretty good idea of what’s going on today. I will be thinking of you today and hoping for a positive outcome. Whatever the results are, there are ladies on here that will support you, you have definately come to the right place.

If you need someone to talk to before your appointment then please do phone the helpline and have a chat they’ll be able to explain to you what to expect at your appointment later today. Calls to the helpline are free, 0808 800 6000 lines open at 9am this morning.

I would just like to say I hope you get on okay, I know what you will be feeling as I have had two operations, before the first I was told it wasn’t cancer so you can imagine the shock to be told it was. However all of the staff at the hospital etc have been wonderful and you will get through it.
