Hi Corina,
Whatever hormone treatment we’re on, many will tolerate it ok & as you know, for others it can be more of a challenge. As ever, we only find out by trying it.
I’ve been fine on tamox, as others are as well, so as ever, see what your onc says & wishing you well with it all.

Hi Corina,
I’ve got my second mammo coming up - great way to start the new year - oh joy!
Anyway, the way I try to look at it is, following treatment there would be less likely to be a problem & if there is, then the sooner it’s dealt with the better.

Hi ladies,
I was diagnosed with Grade 2 Breast Cancer in May 2017, had a left breast mastectomy with about 32/37 lymph nodes cancerous too. I completed 8 sessions of chemo on 22nd Dec (4 x FEC + 4 x T) and today I about to have my first Zoladex injection and take my first Exemestane (Aromasin) tablet. I am 44.
I also start 15 days of radiotherapy this Weds.
I am in a quandary though as an opportunity has arisen for me to start my own business and take on a shop unit. Is this too ambitious given the potential side effects the hormone treatment will give me? My gut tells me to grab the bull by the horns and make the most of life but my head is also warning me that I might not feel up to this challenge. I haven’t worked since my op in June last year.
So, the question is, given your experiences, should I put my life on hold for longer or go with the flow and deal with the side effects alongside my new business?
Honesty is very welcomed!
Thanks.
Lorna
Hi Lorna,
I’m on tamoxifen, not the medication you’re on, but not everyone has problems, or at least finds it manageable. Understandably, those having issues will post here, not those who are tolerating it all ok.
I think your positivity on this is fab, so if you feel this is what you want to do, then why not? Having a project could also help with moving forward with it all.
As ever, it maybe an idea to have a bit of a contingency plan in place, if you need more time for any reason, but if you feel it’s what you want to do, why not go for it!
Good luck with it all
