armpits hurting each chemo round

Heya Ladies

Just wanted to see if anyone else has had this as I’ve seen no mention before but I’ve found that my armpits are feeling sensitive and painful around day 8 of the chemo. I’m on round 3 and this is the 3rd time I’ve noticed it so I reckon it’s related.

I know the chemo will be hitting my immune system right now and it’s only 4 months since the surgery and I did go out for a lovely long sunday walk yesterday so have been doing gentle exercise. I did have 4 lymph nodes removed from each armpit so I reckon I’m just expecting too much too soon. The pain does subside with rest so I doubt it’s anything to worry about is it? I had a checkup only a few weeks ago and all was well then.

Do you think I should mention it to the chemo nurses?

Anyone else notice aches and pains like this repeating with the chemo cycle?

Cheers

Angie

Hi Angie

I have aches & pains in mastectomy scar three days after chemo. Then it goes. I havent mentioned it to nurse.

I think you will find mention of it by others. Also in other old scars. Not sure what it means but it seems normal.

Hope this reassures you.

PS I have two chemo sessions so far and it has also happened every time but at no other time.

Hi, I keep getting aches and pains all over and mentioned it to chemo nurse and she has said its normal. I have had nodes taken from one arm and tonight thats aching and then the other one will ache for no reason at all but it only lasts for a while. Then it will move to scar of WLE and lasts for a while too. Guess its jsut the chemo doing its job.

Thanks Ladies, that’s what I reckon too.

Especially as the chemo is supposed to accumulate so I figure it makes sense that it’s getting slightly worse each round.

Ho hum, joy isn’t it  Because I’m worth it!

… fr what it’s worth - when I was on Epi it hurt everywhere I had an injury … all the chemo holes, scratches, bangs … anywhere that I damaged my body (and presumably it had to repair itself) hurt … doesn’t happen on Tax though …
