Hi
I’m hoping someone here can give me some advice, or at least an opinion.
I have arthritis in my hands and my hobbies are patchwork and quilting and embroidery. In trying to pick up the threads of my life back to before BC I am attempting to finish articles which were put to one side.
I used to wear arthritis support gloves which are by necessity fairly tight. Having had an MX and Lymph node removal I’m not sure if wearing them now would be a good idea or not. They are not too tight that the hands and fingers can’t move but do make the hands warm which suggests that they encourage increased blood flow.
Any ideas??

Hi Eileen,
I don’t have arthritis but do have a bit of lymphoedema in my hand - mainly affecting the thumb and next 2 fingers and above. I’ve been using a pressure glove which has worked really well. It has to be snug but not so that your fingers turn white! I’m getting a custom-made one next week as the gloves I’ve used have been successful in the main, but the top half of the affected fingers are still swollen so it needs a bit of pressure there, too. Everyone at work said I should decorate it with diamante a la Michael Jackson!
Hope this is of some help.

Hi Pat
Thanks for that. I have been at the hospital today so spoke to the BCN. As I do not currently have lymphoedema she suggests that these gloves are not a good idea - so for the moment I will try and find a different way of holding fabric and thread.
Take Care

Hi Andie
I don’t have any ideas myself either - sorry!
But thought you might find this related thread interesting:

I developed arthritis in both wrists soon after I started Aromasin nearly 2 years ago and 2 years after I developed lymphoedema in my right arm. I was given support gloves and splints to wear at night. It didn’t have any impact on my lymphoedema.
