Hi Niki, thanks for messaging xx
Ive started gemcarbo chemo, and week 1 was rough, and week 2 less so (week 2 is just one of the drugs and no steroids), and then week 3 is my break week, so im hoping to make the most of that! Hoping it is doing what it needs to do!
In being referred for cyberknife i had a pet scan which showed secondsry cancer not only in my lung, but bones and liver too…so that was a blow. However the treatment of chemo is the same for all of it, so i drew a line under hoping for surgery/cyberknife and im hoping that chemo holds things for a while.
It was hard getting more bad news at each appointment, but now im on a plan for the forseable it feels better. They will scan me after approx 3 months and see if the chemo has had an effect.

I think your chemo had shrunk the tumours in your lungs? I really hope that is continuing to happen and that things are manageable. How is the treatment going for you?

My sons are back at uni now and im glad for them that they have that positive distraction rather than seeing me off my face on steroids!!!

Hugs, Julie xx

Hey lovely
I’m glad you’re managing to be positive about making the most of your week off . I feel like there are so many similarities with us . I found on my last CT that the targeted therapy is working but it also showed bone mets . I was quite shocked and upset but the treatment remains the same . Like you I’m being scanned again after 3 months which will be mid/ late November .
I’ve got a really bad cough and it really upsets my 23 year old son , I try to think/ say it’s because the lung tumours are shrinking , which they are .
I am just starting my week off and am going away for a few days with my daughter which I’m so looking forward to
Really good to hear back from you , Big hugs , Niki xxx
