Hi Blueash

That’s really great information. Very helpfull. I did not know about the holding your breath bit , all good to know.
My oncologist just gave me a booklet to take away. When I asked about creams to use he said E45.
Hope all is well

Hope everyone is doing ok.
I had my second T reduced 20% and H today, hoping se will be a breeze compared to last time. Or is that too much to hope for?

Thanks Sue. I will try my GP for this nearer the time. If not I see its on Amazon. Really nice to hear from you again. X

Hi
Made it to Look good feel better today at maggies centre Monklands. (Even after chemo number 5 T on Monday . Reduced dose and steroid tail has made a big different to se this time round for the better ) I would recommend going , as lots of lovely products to take home. And lovely to meet ladies to chat to going through simmilar issues. It does make a difference. I feel my friends and family don’t quite get the trauma of it all.

Hi lovelies

Aww vintage the session sounds lovely, I have mine booked for February which I am looking forward to. Sounds great that the reduced dose and the steroid change has made a difference for you!, I will be asking my oncologist about this also. Unfortunately I was admitted to hospital on Tuesday with a high temperature and infection and placed on intrevinous antibiotics and fluid due to dehydration. I was discharged this afternoon with antibiotics and doing well. My last chemo has been put back a week until next week to allow me to fully recover.

I hope we are doing well lovelies, love n hugs to us all :heart::heart:

My transfusion has been cancelled as my blood count went up by 6 points which is apparently above the cut off. Not sure how I feel about this as I was hoping it would make me feel better

Hi
Julie, poor you x x catching an infection so near your last round. Hopefully an extra week to recover will make a difference to you.
I had an extra week and the lowered dose, with the steroid tail, also taking the Claritin, omeprazole and Buscopan daily to help keep at bay any stomach issues. I have not had to take any painkillers as yet!! Big change from solpadol and diamorphine last time.
Hope you’re feeling brighter soon.

Hi See See,
Hope you are also feeling a bit stronger today. X I think this can happen with our blood levels. Mine were so low when admitted to hospital last round but after 4 days iv antibiotics they shot up quite high? So they docs decided to continue the antibiotics for a bit longer. I can’t remember the reason exactly they told me for this, but thought I may have took a slight infection when normal blood levels came up. Let us know how you are in next few days x

Hi everyone!  There have not been many posts this week - I am supposing that you all are like me and are dealing with the daily problems of the T cycles.

Had my first T last Monday and was ok for 2 days just very tired.  On Wed the aches started in my neck and worked their way down to my toes!  Not unbearable just achy.  I took Paracetamol and Ibuprofen rotating every 2 hours and it didn’t get any worse.

I asked my onc about the steroids tail and she said just stick to the normal dose so I did.  I did the Clarityn thing and dunno if that helped but it wasn’t unbearable as I said.  I am such an idiot that I forgot about the Herceptin appt on day 3 so I got it on day 5.

This was the hardest day I have had to endure so don’t anyone else forget their appt!  I was aching all over and had to sit in a big chair for 6 hrs before they would let me go home - observation time.  I kept my eyes closed the whole time and it was like sitting in a Costa coffee shop all day listening to other’s conversations - some were quite funny!

Now day 7.  I have a stuffy nose, a numb tongue, rough gums, aching knees and ankles.  Some fingertips tenderness but I am not too worried yet.  I can’t believe how weak I am - can hardly walk and have spent most days in bed and evenings on the sofa.  I can’t stand loud noises and the neighbours insist on using those loud leaf blowers all weekend!  Grrrr.  My sleep is poor at night - thank god for Radio 4.  I am such an expert on world affairs now!  Ask me anything!

The nausea that plagued me during FEC has returned after I went for a very short walk on Day 5 evening.  I take Meta anti-emetics and they are not having the bloating side effects I had before so will continue for another 3 days on them.  So I can’t face eating much just tomato soup, toasties and salads.  Small meals every 3 hours.  Oh and some chocolate now I can face it!  I am very disappointed that I have the nausea again.  Hopefully it will settle down.

All in all the first T cycle has not been as painful as I feared - yes the fatigue is crippling me and there are side effects but be reassured that it wasn’t as bad as I expected.  I seem to have no nose hairs and the drip has started - lovely.

Hugs to everyone and keep counting down the days.  I am thrilled to say that in 5 weeks I have my last T.  Never thought I would get through this.  We all will.

Going now to OD on I’m a Celeb and Strictly.

Hello Lovely Ladies ???
We are getting through this. ? At least we kind of know what to expect with the change in type of cycles. And we are coping as best we can with it.

Today I am still feeling quite weak in legs, taste shot, and i think there is an elf inside me flicking a switch on and off. Hot wet head , then fine, constant hot / cold. but I am determined to get my self out the front door for an hour . Still lazing around for now. Must bribe myself with a treat if I do it. Lol

Hey Julie
No more chemo! ???x
Hope it’s plain sailing for you over the next few weeks. And your taste buds recover a bit for Xmas day x
My last T is 12th Dec . Wonder how long it takes till your hair starts to sprout?

Well have finally finished my chemo 2 weeks ago and am starting to come round a bit , still got herceptin every 3 weeks and start tamoxifen next week so we will see what pleasures those little pills give . Being quite reflective i am proud of myself as there was a point where i thought i couldnt carry on with the treatment but i suppose everyone feels like that we all hve our certain low times .So looking forward to christmas , fingers crossed the tamifoxen doesnt effect me too badly and look forward to getting my reconstruction and reduction sorted . Good luck everyone and have a great christmas xx

Congratulations Julie and Tracey for finishing your chemotherapy. You must be relieved it is done now and you can move forward. I’ve still got one T to go like Vintage - my last infusion is on 13 December so fingers crossed we’ll be in a reasonable state by Christmas. II know that some ladies have chemo scheduled just before Christmas, which is terrible timing. I hope your SEs are mild, and you are able to enjoy your Christmas in spite of this.

So pleased Julie I’ve got round 2 of the t treatment hopefully next Wednesday … I’m IN aure of you wounderful ladies without your support I don’t think I’d have been as strong as I am now…countdown to Feb when my chemo finishes …had MRI and good news it’s shrunk massively I’m so happy …???

Hi lovely ladies xxx
Had my last T yesterday. Just waiting on se to kick in for the last time. Yey. Still have the herceptin for rest of the year though and rads and tamoxifen start early January.

Good luck for todays last T OldDawn63 ?

Benno449 so glad to hear your positive news. I know your chemo is running till February but we will all still be here to support you and each other for some time yet I am sure. So keep us updated ?x

Julie, your on your way to a lovely Christmas and hopefully mostly se free. Great feeling.

Tracey fizz, good luck with your reconstruction. Another step to normality Let us know how you get on. I have not decided whether to go for recon in the future as yet.?

SeeSee, how are you getting on? Hope you are keeping a bit better ?

Blueash, have you finished your rads now? ?

Aine, how are you now with the T ? Hoping you are coping well ?

Thinking of you all. And thanking you for your support. It is really reassuring to be able to talk to lovely ladies who understand each other and our worries.

Hi lovely ladies
Hope everyone had a nice Christmas.
I really enjoyed a relaxing day. Hubby did the cooking , kids had a great day. ?
I am still suffering from se of last T. Face cheeks are still very red and sore and now my eyes have swollen and are stinging and watering . Eye lashes are now gone. Nose bleads all the time, legs feel achy and heavy, I fall asleep all the time and stomach is still not settled down. I have also had a pins and needles feeling all over ( I never had on first 2 T)
I am impatient to feel better and it gets me down that I still don’t feel up to going out.
I had my planning scan last week for radiotherapy. Got my 3 dots. Start 3rd Jan.
I have also booked myself on a beginers pottery and camera coarse for next year. Lol . To try and help me move forward from this and focus on something new. I will try anything.
Luv V xx

Vintage - sorry for late response to your post of 27 December, hope you are feeling better now. I’m only a day behind you and I’ve had similar problems with my last T cycle. Its now Day 19 but I still keep getting red blotches and random spots on my face, the skin on my face is so sensitive I can’t use any cleansers or moisturisers, and my eyes and nose are streaming! I’ve also got conjunctivitis (don’t know why), and had to get some eye drops from the chemists. And as for the fatigue, I can’t even manage a short walk to the local shops without feeling.exhausted. I only hope I’m fit enough for the operation on 19 January! Hope we are both feeling better soon.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and hope for better things in 2017. XXX
