Is there anyone on here who will be going for chemo during August in Scotland, I have a friend going then and would like to think she would have someone to talk to during treatment. I presume any family wont be allowed in the room. I live near the midlands so wont be able to be there for her. I will find out the dates the next couple of days as she is staying in her caravan for a couple of days before going back north.
Hugs to you all

Saphire, when I was doing chemo it was ok for me to have someone, unless it is a really heavy day for the wards. My husband stayed with me for all of mine and it was extremely helpful. I don’t think you should assume that there could be a buddy system as you don’t know / say what the regime is. Is it a weekly cycle or three weekly? Are the appointments morning, afternoon? Although I was given a list of appointments I was also able to switch them if needed, so the hospitals are quite flexible . Can I also say that in the six months I was having chemo I only saw two ladies again. I’m in Newcastle though, which is a huge cancer centre. Much better to check with the hospital itself by phoning. They are always lovely and very very helpful. Get it from the horses mouth, so to speak. Hoping that your friend is being taken to and from her chemo. She certainly shouldn’t try to do it herself. Sorry I can’t be more helpful. Good luck to your friend. X
