hiya…im new here and just wanted to talk to someone / anyone. Im 32 and 10 years ago i had a lump removed from my breast, it wasn’t anything to worry about. I have now gone on and had 2 children breast fed both. i’ve been having regular check ups but on friday i had an ultrasound scan. They found a cyst which was drained but then went on to find 3 odd shaped lumps on my left breast. A core biopsy was taken. The doctor carrying out the biopsy said i should have the results back within 5 days! I asked if it could be “C” and she said she cant be certain. Im am now out of my mind with worry and have to wait til 16th for my results. I have been having pain in my right breast near the armpit, but nothing was found on right side. Has anyone had a similar situation that can give me some peace of mind!
Hi Laulau,
Waiting for the results is THE WORST! All I can recommend is trying to keep busy so that your imagination doesn’t run away with you and don’t google!!
9 out of 10 breast lumps are benign and the majority of biopsies come back negative. However, the regular users of this forum have all had positive diagnoses so unfortunately won’t be able to give you peace of mind. There are lots and lots of women who do come on and post when they first find a lump or are waiting for the biopsy results and come back to tell us that they had good news and it wasn’t cancer - but they won’t be on the forum still. What we forum ladies can do is promise to offer lots of support if it is bad news.
I hope you don’t go too crazy in the run up to your results and that when you get them they are good news.

Hi, in october 2010 I had a lump and the doctor took a biopsy she told me the didn’t know what it was but didn’t think suspicious, I was then sent home, turned out to be nothing, september 2011 found another lump, same doctor done another biopsy (same boob but opposite side) this time she told me she was suspicious and I was sent 2 see surgeon and breast cancer nurse, and this time she was right. I believe doctors have a very good idea especially radiologist. I hope your ok and the worrying part is normal. Good luck xx
Hi laulau
There is a tool they use to gauge how suspicious or not a lump appears on clinical examination, Mammo and ultrasoun… 1 means is normal, 2 is def benign like a cyst, 3 is indeterminate and could be a benign, abnormal or malignant leision, 4 is most likely abnormal or malignant and may require surgery but can be benign, 5 is malignant… From what you have said it sounds like you are a 3 or a 4 so could go either way.
Fingers crossed is benign but if it’s not we are all here to help and support you… The worst bit is defiantly the waiting.
