Babs needs to be more balanced!

Hello All,

Had an mx & LD recon last week, christened ‘Babs’.

She’s settling down nicely but she is considerably bigger than the original model - 2 sizes bigger in order to (hopefully) counter-act the effects of Rads.

We’re waiting for swelling to go down and so I’m due back to the clinic on the 15th to be measured for bra sizes, where i’m sure i’ll be offered various stuffings for her natural, yet size-challenged, sister.

I’ve just been on the net and found some stick on silicone bras, that look as if the cups can be worn separately. If so, i think they would suit as i’m naturally quite small and don’t need a bra on the ‘natural’ side. The consultant is happy for me not to wear a bra if its comfortable to do this.

Anyone used them? Any good?
Any other ideas?

Anyone? Bump.

Sorry I can’t help, I’ve never used them but I know getting a bra to fit after recon was a problem for me and it’s one that is rarely discussed. It certainly wasn’t something that anyone from breast care surgeon to BCN to plastic surgeon discussed with me and as a result I’ve been disappointed with the result. No matter how good is it is never 100% the right size or shape and doesn’t always fit correctly inside the bra cup. My plastic surgeon did want to do mine again to get a better result, (not the whole op, obviously, just the implant) but I decided I’d had enough, it’s not that noticeable and I’ve just gone with it. I tried all kinds of styles and in the end the only one that I could use was the vest style sports bra.

SCACO, haven’t used one of these, but have bookmarked for when I have my recon. They come with expandable cups so should fit both sides while things settle down. External seams too so they don’t rub. P xxx

If you were wearing a bra, would a chicken fillet do for Babs’ sister? I’ve seen them in M&S. No idea what they’re like but might be worth taking a look.

Hi, Just a thought but I wouldn’t have wanted anything stuck on my skin during or after rads so I guess it depends how long it is going to be until your rads starts whether stick on is best? I just got a padded bra and have a chicken fillet to balance up the other side for now xx
