Hello ladies,
I’m back from my surgery. All went ok I think, didn’t see the cons aftewards so I assume all was ok. I have to go back in 2 weeks for my results so I guess only time will tell.
I had to have a hook wire inserted into my left breast with the aid of the ultra sound before surgery. That wasn’t a very pleasent experience!! They bent 3 needles trying to get to the lump. For those of you who have had a core biopsy done, the needles are very similar to those, just a little bigger. They had trouble because my breast tissue is so dense, I never realised how firm I was, lol!
I have had surgery on both breasts, one I know to be a fibroadenoma, (right breast) and the left one we’ll have to wait an see, but they are assuming its the same thing. Had my first mammogram yesterday too after the hook wire was fitted, glad I’d has local anaesthetic first…though she couldn’t see anything as tissue too dense!
I haven’t looked at the wound on my right breast yet as it has a pressure pack on it and cant take it off yet, but changed the dressing on the left this mornign! ewww!
I have a 2 inch scar and 6 staples! I look like Frankensteins monster, lol! It seems rather large for a 8mm lump!
Hope everyone is doing ok, and hi to my old invisible friends, Claire, Dawn, Ceegra, Beano and Kelly… and Hi to all you newer ladies I have’y met yet!
My heart goes out to you girls that have just had you diagnosis. I’ve been reading the threads, keep your spirits up and I’m sure you can fight this thing and win hands down!! Love to you all.
Heidi xx
