Hi everyone, just thought I would let anyone out there know how my DIEP went last Thursday in Salisbury. 8 hr op and up and walking day 2, a bit of pain but quite bearable. I need a reduction on the other side (my choice) and nipple and my surgeon says he will do this in 12 weeks - I am sure I can reduce that!!! Feel fab to be home yesterday (day 6) and am looking forward to a nice recovery period over the summer.

Glad your home and hopefully still feeling well, I’m am down for DIEP at Salisbury with Mr Tiernan, did he do your op, would be interested to hear all the details good and bad as I like to be prepared!!! I saw him yesterday and persuaded him to do my DIEP and reduction in one go, he didn’t advise it but I am sick of hospitals and just want to get it over and done with. I have also started new job after leaving A&E after 20 years, new job at local HQ of PCT so don’t want to be taking loads of time of sick over next year or so.
Do you live locally or like me will have to travel to Salisbury, I like about 1 hour away in Yeovil.
Hope you continue to recover and enjoy the summer (that’s if we ever have one)

Hi Clare, thanks for your reply, Mr Horlock did mine and was brilliant, I am alos having a reduction but he was unable to do all at the same time as op too long. The lady in the bed next door had Mr T and was really impressed, she looked great and was making a good recovery too. Salisbury is indeed a centre of excellence and the surgeons are all superb.
I live in Southampton and the travelling was not a problem.

I’m down for a DIEP at Salisbury at beginning of August. Good to read the positive comments as I’m finding the waiting very hard. Miss Oesterich is doing mine - has anyone had experience of her - she seems very nice. I’m hoping the reality won’t be as bad as my imagination!
