So, update: I was supposed to have had my follow up yesterday… drove the 45mins to QEQM hospital, only to find that my surgeon was in Canterbury!
Honestly, you couldn’t make this up. I had a message on my nhs app a couple of months ago, changing the time of the appointment, but same day (just an hour later). Turns out it was actually a completely different hospital as well
In fairness to the team at QEQM they contacted his team and they did say that if I could drive the hour + back to the other hospital (which is so much closer to where I actually live), they would see try to squeeze me in, between other patients.
But, I had other stuff to do around Margate, so opted for a new appointment. Lord knows when that will be… they were very apologetic. But, what a bloody stupid farce, and a waste of petrol and everyone’s time.
Grrr
Rant over
Hope you’re feeling ok today @bellalasagne1 .
Sending big hugs

OMG, you couldn’t make that up…,never mind all the nervous energy consumed as well. It’s bad enough having brain fog and everything else going on without this too!
If it makes you feel any better I’ve just been for my (delayed) smear at the wrong surgery
Luckily the other one (of the pair) is only a 5 min drive away. My fault, should’ve had my glasses on when the reminder came through….should’ve gone to Specsavers.
After the usual indignity I did double check I didn’t have my skirt tucked in my knickers as I left.,

Hello my dear BBBs, hope you are all well.
I’m so sorry that I haven’t been on here much but life suddenly got very busy/stressful and then I got locked out of my BCN account and it took ages to find you all again!
@bellalasagne1 @misswoof-88 You two are a nightmare but your antics are bloody hilarious

Hope you’re doing okay Bella with your bereavement and then dealing with all the other crap that was thrown your way.
I’ve just sold my mums house which has been an emotional rollercoaster. She has dementia and now lives with my sister as I still work but I honestly feel that she’s not doing all she can to help my mum. As POA I’ve been responsible for all the paperwork etc but I didn’t realise that the actual move would fall to just me either
My daughter and hubby have been great and we managed to clear the house in just 2 weeks but it’s been tough as I grew up there and it was the home my mum and dad shared all their married life (would have been 60 years). Anyway enough of my moans.
Have any of you been away on holiday despite the unusually hot weather here?
Look forward to catching up now I can see the messages again.
Lots of love and hugs to my lovely ladies

Hi Charlotte! Well done for finding your way back lol! What are you like?
Sounds like you have had an awful lot to deal with recently. I’m not surprised you haven’t had time to catch up.
I remember the manouth job clearing my in laws place, when my mother in law passed and it was equally stressful.
They too had lived in the same house since the early 50’s… and I remember conversations with her long before they both passed away, and she joked about us having ‘a hell of a job” when we came to sort out their place. She wasn’t wrong, bless her!!
The stuff they kept , you wouldn’t believe. And trying to not miss precious sentimental stuff, while being overwhelmed by the size of the task, isn’t easy. So, kudos to you for getting it done in a fortnight. It took Phil & I longer than that to do just the house/attic. We then had to sort out the garages and the his dad’s workshop & greenhouses, which his mum refused to touch after his dad passed. It just stayed in situ until she passed herself, years later… it was a tough few weeks. And as an only child, we just had to roll our sleeves up and get on with it ourselves. We eventually just ended up buying plastic storage boxes and stacking them in our own garage/attic and outhouses with paperwork etc. it took us a long, long time (long after the house was emptied) to sift through and separate stuff that we needed to keep and stuff we could let go.
It made us both mindful of of our own need to have a good clear out, that’s for sure…
Yes, we are still both as irreverent as ever
How are you getting on with your meds?
I’m currently trying to decrease my tyroid blockers, and that’s been interesting
… I’m in what the endocrinologist calls a ‘thyroid no man’s land’ - niether hyper nor hypo but a bit of both. But I’ll keep on. It’s not too bad. certainly no where near as bad as anastrozole. And it will get better very soon.
Big hugs
My sympathies both xx
Hubs is trying to sell his parents house after FIL died last year, they lived there for 58 years
. MIL also has dementia and is living with other son, can’t remember where anything is kept so it’s fair to say it’s a voyage of discovery.
Then me and my Mum have been clearing out Dad’s stuff. We discovered he was a bit of a hoarder. Kept ALL bank statements since year dot…. NS&I bond certificates dated 1959 (still valid!) …and possibly hundreds of loyalty cards. 10% off at Focus DIY on a Wednesday anyone?
It’s so hard, and sad.
Lovely to have you back Charlotte xx And no to holiday yet, got one booked mid-Sep. Can’t blooming wait
Love to all,
Bxx
