Hi
Went to the breast clinic a couple of years back, and was diagnosed with mastistic. Was given antibotics, it cleared up and havent had any problems since. Untill now! Saw my gp this morning because the same nipple has gone flat and the area around it feels hard. She said it was probably just scarring from the previous infection, but could be more serious so has referred me. Should have an appointment within a fortnight. Which was what i expected, and wasnt to worried about it. But within an hour of being home I recieved a call from the clinic and have an appointment tuesday. Now I’m worried! It wasnt that quick before! I had to wait longer for my gp appointment!
Hi sarahp

Sarah, that’s not something to panic about, honest, it’s just excellent service! Chances are they had a cancellation, which seems to happen fairly often. I got my appointment by phone I think 2-3 days after the referral, and I was glad of it because it shortened the amount of time I spent worrying. The clinic wouldn’t have enough information to judge whether it was screamingly urgent or not just from your GP’s referral (that’s why your GP referred you!) so please don’t fret.
Hope you get good results from your appointment, but please don’t panic at the speed, just breathe a sigh of relief that you don’t have long to wait.
hi sarah , well good on your doctor i say , its brilliant that your been seen so soon, there is nothing worse than sitting in the waiting room for a cupple of weeks, thinking up all sorts it is a worrying time , we all know the feeling , but just because you have an earlier appointment, it does NOT mean its anything sinister there could of been a cancilation for all you know , and the clinic dont like to waste an appointment fingers crossed all is well for you, remember 9/10 lumps or hardenings ane NOT cancer . hope all goes well angie xx
chocci muffin… today i think we share the same brain xxx 2 great minds lol
yes great minds think alike. My instant thought was, lucky girl got a cancellation. Basically when they book people in for their first appointment I think they pencil out a number of sessions the following week for people to come back for results. But if this week lots of women did not need biopsies and were told they were clear, than there will be free appointments next week, and you got one of those.
So the good news is you dont have to wait two weeks. The bad news is that you still have 5 days to sit and worry and wonder about it. We can all be pleased with the news that 9 out of 10 are fine, and you have good experiance of an all clear, and there is no reason why you should not get another all clear, but its only natural for our minds to wonder–what if??
so if you need to come back on here for more support, or to say anything at all please do, everybody is welcoming and helpfull
