Just been to the doctor about a small lump in my rite breast she has now referred me to the breast clinic. Said around four weeks waiting time. Think this will be a long few weeks.

Hi all
I’ve been referred under the two week rule with a thickening, pea sized hard lump, swollen lymph glands in underarm and pain and enlargement in my right breast. I finally have my appointment on Tuesday but after reading the posts here I’m a little concerned.
I was referred a few years ago with a greeny bloody discharge from my nipple. I was examined and given a mammogram. They called me back to do a more in-depth mammogram but decided it was nothing. I’ve read that some cancers do not appear on mammograms and need an ultrasound to be detected. Should I insist on both this time? My right breast hasn’t been the same ever since my first appointment. I’m not a natural worrier but I’m feeling confused and concerned. I have a life threatening condition which was missed by my local hospital and as a result I have little confidence in them; they will be seeing me again in the breast clinic.
I’m 45, should I/ can I request an ultrasound as well as a mammogram?
Thank you for an advice you can offer.
Much love and luck to you all xx
