Been through treatment and now waiting to have lump in healthy breast checked out :-(

Hi all

I finished active treatment for Breast Cancer at the end of May. Currently taking Tamoxifen. A few weeks ago I felt a lump in my other breast! GP said she couldn’t feel it, which wasn’t reassuring, as they didn’t feel the original lump either.

So on Wednesday I have an appointment at the breast clinic :frowning: I’m suddenly really nervous about going through this again. I want to go to the appointment because I need to know what it is. But at the same time I am thinking what if it is bad news, how on earth would I cope IF they need to do a biopsy! I’m praying that the mammogram will just show it’s nothing (me just being paranoid) But what if it doesn’t?

Has any one else been through the same. Also has anyone else experienced lumpier feeling breasts since being on Tamoxifen? I know my body has been through alot, and I know that hopefully that’s what’s caused the lump! BUT could do with hearing some others experiences.

Hi Nanny- Sal,

I finished treatment 3 months ago and have also found a lump in my other breast. I saw my GP this morning and is referring me, hope the wait is not too long.

I am also feeling scared, not sure I could go through it all again.

I am also taking Tamoxifen.

Sorry I can not give you any positive experiences but hope it helps a little to know you are not alone.
