Been to hospital
Been to hospital Hello,
Went to see the consultant today and even tho she didnt know what was causing the discharge she couldnt find any lumps. She put a little sample of the discharge on one of those sticks they use to test your wee when you are pregnant and turned to the nurse and said ’ a trace’ … does anyone know what this means??
She said i was to go for a mamagram and made a follow up appointment for June. How long does it take normaly to get this appointment through. Not sure if it was good news or not really … all she said was ’ if its something then it has to come off ’ and i was a little taken back on how blunt she said it.
Feel better than i did this morning as that drive up to the hospital felt such a long one even tho it was only 10 mins.
good luck everyone waiting for results

Hi Claire
It’s unfortunately impossible to know what the ‘Trace’ was for, the sticks used in general cover blood, protein, glucose & others. It might possibly be a trace of blood?? It really is impossible to know without you asking them what the trace was.
When I had my bi-lat discharge in July 2005 my mammo appointment came through within a week of seeing the consultant but then the actual appointment was over 4 weeks later. This was the same 9 months later whan I finally plucked up courage to see them again about my new lump, it then took 3 months to diagnose my cancer.
I do hope your appointment comes through soon as this interim time is a really worrying. I know you get all sort of things going through your head!
Good luck with your mammo when you get the appointemnt through.
