Beginning treatment

And I would recommend asking for a spare pair of the delightful stockings you have to wear so you can wash them regularly

Xx

I can ask - didn’t realise you had to keep them on x

Hi Pearl

I had all these procedures done in Oct for a Grade 1 lump and DCIS. The magseed and radioisotope were fine, and the op was ok. I felt pretty sore for a few days but took it easy and my recovery wasn’t too slow. I developed cording which is a pain in the neck, still here but slowly improving. I got home about 3 hours after my op. I was pretty out of it so don’t really remember the journey home or first night, except that it was nice to be home. Good luck with it all- and stuff Christmas! I have my radiotherapy running right up to 24/12, so it’s going to be very quiet here x

Hi - thanks for this. How did you find the radiotherapy? I think this was mentioned at my appointment but can’t really remember- there really was so much information given then. I wish I could go back and ask more questions. My BCN is new and although lovely not sure she knows all the ins and outs but I am going to compose a long email today with some questions. For instance, reading my consent form there are a couple of possible ‘extras’ that I don’t understand: eg surgical chest clips. Not sure how long I will get before the op to ask the surgeon questions.

Any input on this I would be grateful.

Hope you have an ok Christmas chill xxx

Hi Pearl. My radiotherapy starts this Thurs, 5sessions in total, so not sure how it will be yet. I’ve been for the pre scan appointment which was fine. We have to travel quite a way which is not going to be great every day.

There is a lot to take in, my head was spinning after my consultant appointment. Things have just sorted of fallen into place though. The biggest issue I am having is side effects from the letrosol. I’m 6 weeks in so hoping that settles down x
