Bellybutton after DIEP

Going through breast cancer treatment Surgery

Hi all. I had a mastectomy with immediate DIEP reconstruction 4 months ago. All has healed well and I’m feeling great. However, my belly button is incredibly deep. I can get my little finger in all the way to the 2nd knuckle which is about an inch! Is there anyone else who had a diep reconstruction that found this too?

So pleased to hear things have settled for you after all your trauma and worries :slightly_smiling_face:

I haven’t had your type of surgery but suspect your tummy area is still healing and changing and make take a while to finally settle but
If you’re worried about the appearance talk to your team
Belly buttons come in all shapes and sizes ( like boobs) and can be cosmetically redesigned if needed be
