Hi tors. I attended a great place in Stockport, (about five mins from town center) called Beachwood.
They run an 8 week course for anyone with cancer. You attended one day a week, receiving an hrs 1 to 1 counselling and an hrs complementary therapy of your choice (Reiki, massage or reflexology) during the morning. You are then given lunch (choice of menu) and a glass of wine if you so desire. The afternoon is made up of one hrs group therapy and one hrs relaxation techniques.
I attended during treatment and although I didn’t have chemo, there were others there that were receiving it. It was ok to miss a week if you were not up to it.
I know for deff, that they ran a headstrong course or something very similar, there too.
Its not for everyone but was a god send for me. Talking to/meeting others in same/similar situation and the hrs 1 to one helped me get all my feelings out, to someone who was impartial to me, if you know what I mean.
If you would like the phone number, just let me know and I will PM you tomorrow.
Take care
yes please that sounds so good, am totally going out of my head at the moment and would love some help like that, thankyou

I went to beechwood today and it was really helpful, is just through edgley. The ladies were very helpful, i am not sure the scarves are very me, but the hats and the half wigs and little fringey bits of hair felt great as it was just like i usually wear in summer, ie a hat and some hair poking out round the bottom. Friendly place and a great resource.
0161 476 0384 is beechwood phone number.
