On the 3rd of May I had a excisional breast biopsy for a suspected fibrodeama. I was told after the surgery that I was to come back into the clinic on the 30th of may for the biopsy results to see if it was indeed a fibrodeama or if it was something else.
Is that normal waiting time? I originally thought that it would take 4/5 days or so but maybe they thought there was nothing to worry about and that’s why it’s so long?
Has anyone else had to wait this long?
Also, I had the letter this morning to confirm the follow up appointment and it says to bring a specimen of urine. Why would this be?
I’m sorry if I seem to be rambling, but as time goes on, I’m getting more and more worried!!
Hi Natalie, I was told that I’d hear something 2 weeks after my biopsy, but being a bank holiday it could be longer. I heard nothing though and went along to my follow up appointment which was 3 weeks from my biopsy! It’s a long time to wait isn’t it and so stressful so I understand how you feel. Sorry I can’t be of much help xx
Hello ladies. I hope you are all doing okay with the wait. I haven’t had my biopsy yet but I am worrying about how long the result will take already. I had a cyst drained three weeks ago, but in the follow up ultra sound today they found a different lump and they can’t do the biopsy until next week. Do you think I should take someone with me for the biopsy? I don’t really have anyone to take so I’m hoping you’ll say it will be fine!
I Have BC in both breasts, one is stage 1 and the other stage 2, I am having a mastectomy on my right one where i had the lesions and lump removal on my left. it sounds strange but i feel fine about it all, I think in my head i thought it was going to be the worse case senario, thinking it had spread through out my body all sorts of things your mind works overtime on while waiting for results. So the fact that it can be dealt with, I know thats not going to be pleasant or pain free and they are hoping i might not need to have chemo so to me it is all positive, hopefully 6 month to a year from now things will get back to normalish. The fight is on and I will beat this :)
